Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, Ubiquiti's Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using predesignated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller.

This "time slot" method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency. It provides performance improvements in latency, throughput, and scalability compared to other outdoor systems in its class.

Remote hardware reset circuitry of the NanoStationlocoM allows the device to be remotely reset from the power supply location.

Priority is given to voice/video for seamless streaming.

The airMAX NanoStationlocoM is capable of high-speed carrier-class links.

Multiple features help to significantly reduce noise.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What real world wifi speeds are you all seeing with these WAPs? I have gigabit internet that runs about 800-900mb/s on all the wired devices, but only see between 70-120mb/s when on the AC wifi using Luxul WAP-1510's.

A: We've seen up to 400mbs on these. However a typical wi-fi AC connection depends on the device, distance, interference, etc. Real world for us is 120-180mbs for most devices.

Q: 2. This may be a newbie type of question - can I use one or more of these to extend my Apple router based home network to parts it does not currently reach and can I use these access points to connect wired cameras with PoE? I know I would need added power injectors for the last part.

A: Yes, these access points can be used for both of those functions.

Q: 3. Do you have a estimated date the manufacturer will ship these to you?

A: I apologize, but this type of request cannot be taken care of through this feature of our website. Please contact our Customer Service department by entering Live Chat, emailing directly to cs@a href= http://bhphoto.com, target= _blank bhphoto.com,/a or calling us toll-free at 800.221.5743.

Q: 4. This unit has two network ports. Can each be plugged into a different network and have an SSID that connects to a specific port?

A: No it supports only data pass through for the same network.

Q: 5. Does this come with the circular plastic attachment that connects to a nano beam that goes over the pole mount?

A: All parts of the Ubiquiti Networks Quick-Mount for Ubiquiti CPE Devices can be seen in this image: https://bhpho.to/48seqze

Q: 6. Is this rated to be outside?

A: No, this is not a outdoor model. BH #UBUAPACMUS is rated to be outside

Q: 7. Can this AP be powered by a non-Ubiquiti PoE router such as Netgear GS108PE or TP Link SG1008PE?

A: It comes with a PoE injector, but it can be powered by PoE compatible routers as well.

Q: 8. Will multiple access points allow for seamless roaming within the covered area?

A: Yes, that's the whole philosophy behind UniFi. A suite of UniFi APs, that can include mixed models and mixed generations, properly configured by a common Controller, allows seamless roaming across overlapping AP coverage areas.

Q: 9. Is B&H selling the newer AC-LR units (datecode 1638 and beyond) that are capable of 802.3af PoE or do they still require 24V?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-LR-US 802.11ac Long Range Access Point B&H # UBUAPACLRUS is 24V but it can be used with PoE.

Q: 10. What is it with the US tag in the part number? Is it strictly reserved for US residents? I'm from Canada and would like to buy one of these someday.

A: From Ubiquiti's community website...The reason why there are two versions (other brands other versions as well), because in the US, they do not allow devices which are capable of operating outside the US Regulatory domain by the FCC. In terms of the difference or a super-set, the US Version is basically a World Version restricted to operate within the US Regulatory domain. In terms of a product purchase, if you were purchasing from a US seller, you can only get the US version since they are allowed to sell this version. There are some sellers in the US which do sell the World Version, however they can only ship it to addresses outside of the US. If you were purchasing from outside the US, they will have World Versions (ie. Canada).

[Internal] Purchased this unit to broadcast our small business network to 2 remote buildings. Physical setup was a breeze and with a beam of 120 degrees, detailed alignment wasn't necessary. The airos 8 setup was quick and easy and can be handled by the novice and expert alike. If you're looking for a cost effective solution to extend your network to locations you didn't think was possible, this is a must have.

[5.5 W] the WIFI is long reaching and is a durable product that can last years in outdoor conditions

WIFI goes for a long range in a narrow beam straight out of the device making it perfect for getting those hard to reach areas covered

[-96 to -74 dBm] I have used Ubiquiti AirOS devices for many years. They are fairly simple to set up, given their flexibility and work well.

This is (currently) the cheapest in the range. I have a pair of them in use to provide an Internet connection to my Pole Barn. The barn is about 50yds from the house. Just a bit too far to reliably run cable. Fiber would be a good option, apart from the obstacles that would need to be overcome to actually run it. Much easier to just set up a pair of these. Somewhat overkill for the distance, but turn down the power and I have a 300/300 Mbps link to the barn, which is more than enough for my needs.

[2.4 GHz] These are slightly different from the Nanostation 5AC. These require configuration from a wired connection. Once configured, they were used to connect 3 remote ip cameras back to the network. The units were roughly 450 ft apart, but connected with excellent stability very quickly.
