Q: 5. How does this microphone perform in loud environments?

A: It's a omnidirectional microphone, so it will pick up some background noise. However as long as the subject speaks into the microphone it will sound clear. For less background noise I would recommend looking into a cardioid handheld microphone.

My big question before trying it is, how is the self-noise and handling-noise on this unit? Thx in advance.

A: The Microphone Madness MM-MSLM is an excellent microphone for the money, relatively quiet, and not too bad on the handling noise. You may want to pick up some hush lav quieting sleeves (used with the sanken lavs) to better isolate the microphone from rustling noise. Also, please not the microphone requires power via bias voltage; 1 to 9 VDC.

A: You also have to make sure the Shield ( Ground wire) is also connected also this is made for 70 volt systems only

[0.9 lb (0.4 kg)] The Yamaha YVC-1000 is top-of-the-line. We have a 15x35 foot conference room with about a 20-foot table in the center. We tried other products and just didn't get good enough microphone levels. The speaker is very loud and the included microphone is excellent. We've added one more microphone for extended coverage. I think the best feature is the built-in auto-tuning. Very slick and actually works very well. 5

[1.915 lb] This is a great solution for large U-shape or long boardroom tables. I find it particularly useful for company events held at an offsite location (i.e. hotel) to quickly enable conference calls or GoToMeeting. The auto-EQ function works very well and the audio quality is the best I've seen in a USB product. Be sure to update the firmware, as Yamaha/Revolabs have done great work to improve the product. I own two sets, each with the maximum 5 microphone pods. 5

[0.9 lb (0.4 kg)] YVC-200 is the very best mic quality, I use it 9 hours a day, no software, just plug into USB A slot and it's working. I needed a solution where the other person does not hear that I am on a speaker. Yamaha is so deep in sound studio technology that they really make business spoken voice an easy win over 3 of the alternative speakerphones I've tried. This is the one to get if your job depends on you to sound good for long hours. 5
