The Zylight Newz LED On-Camera Light Wireless Controlfrom Zylight Newz LED On-Camera Light Wireless Controlis an on-camera LED light with variable color temperature that can be dimmed from 100 to 0%. With a range of 3200 to 5600K, you can easily use this light for interior and exterior productions. It achieves a CRI rating of 95, which provides excellent color reproduction. With an IP54 rating, the Newz is suitable for use in wet, snowy, and dusty environments. The light draws a maximum of 17W and has an input voltage range of between 5 and 20 VDC.

The light fixture mounts to your camera via a quick release 1/4"-20 threaded mounting stud with integrated D-Tap power cable. An integrated articulating arm allows you to mount the light low and tight on your camera or position it forward on your camera without having to change the attachment point. The arm incorporates a quick release function, enabling you to quickly remove or re-mount the light without having to unscrew the 1/4"-20 mounting block. Incorporating ZyLink Wireless allows you to either slave multiple Zylight fixtures together so that they mirror each other or control your fixture using an optional ZyLight remote.

ZyLink wireless means every Zylight can talk to any other Zylight from up to 60 feet away. You can set up a group of Zylights to key light a subject or wash a wall with color and then adjust their intensity from across the set while watching the monitor. This allows you tremendous remote control capability since they can be easily linked together to act in concert as if they were one unified source. Adjustments made on one light change all lights in the group, or you can use an optional remote control unit. A choice of ten wireless channels allows you to isolate lights from each other if the need arises.

Quick release mounting allows you to quickly attach/remove the fixture to/from your camera, while leaving the mounting foot and power cable attached to your camera. This can speed up the time it takes to prep the camera and wrap your package at the end of the day.

Removable barndoors allow you to have control over your light's spill.

The Newz features individual control knobs for color temperature and brightness.

A: This light has dual power options. It can be powered through an AC Adapter or a Sony NP-F style battery.

A: This is a great quality light and the diffuser is of a nice quality as well.

Q: 3. What is the DC plug size on the side of the light? The instructions says it takes 9V~12V/2A but doesn't say what size the plug in has to be. Since we need to find a third party adapter, we need to know that info. It's usually a mm size. I don't want to buy an expensive dummy Bat adapter. It has DC in on the side.

[60°] This is a nifty device and provides sufficient lighting in a portable format. The only thing that would make it perfect if it had the ability to charge it's battery while still attached to the unit. For that you need to take with you the dedicated charging unit and cable. I find the GoPro adapter adequate but the unit spins too easily when attached and I couldn't get it to secure in place, but this is not a deal breaker. For an economical and efficient light source, I would recommend this product. 5

[1x Barndoors] My life as a photographer has changed with the GVM RGB-10S LED On-Camera RGB LED Video Light with Wi-Fi Control. Now, near instantly, I can directly light my subjects, diffuse, change the color temperature and intensity rapidly. Its compactness is a blessing. I love them so much that I bought two of them. Lots of research to pick the best. 5

[Passive] This light works wonders. I used it for a week straight and battery is just now getting low. I have used this for product test shots and my Nieces portrait Photoshoots. The lighting is great and plenty bright. I love this lightweight LED especially that for the price you can also change any Color. The phone app I see many have issues with but for Me? I Haven't experienced any issues using my iPhone 7 app. It works great. I can sit distance away from the light and control it from a light stand or on top of the cameras cold shoe mount. Compared to other brands this one was much cheaper and gets the job done. I did lots of research prior to buying this one and I love this one the most. 5

[3200 to 5600K] I don't shoot video, but I use this on my Nikon D5 for supplemental lighting. I never go on a job without it. I can control the amount of light, the color temperature, and do it all from my iPhone. Convenient, dependable, light weight, versatile and the battery recharges quickly. I would recommend it to all professional photographers and videographers. 5

[2.4 GHz] Small compact light that is retractable, robust and great quality of light. I love the wireless controls, and it comes with barn doors, and the quick release is pretty cool. You could bring it up high, push it over your lens, the one-handed adjustability lets you set the position without locks or knobs. 5

[Proprietary] Was skeptical to get this over the Aperture MC, but I think I made the right choice. The light is amazing and powerful. I did have an issue with the blue light, but customer support was quick to resolve the issue and is currently sending me a new one. 10/10 would recommend it to other people 5

[60°] I received the video light promptly as promised by B&H. Sadly I couldn’t check it out because the battery was dead and would not accept a charge. I emailed to GVM support and received a prompt reply. Had a new battery and charger by weeks end, good customer service. The light performed better Than I had hoped for. The light intensity is good for close subjects with excellent intensity adjustment. I liked the ability to dial in just the right amount of warmth with the temperature control. I did not play around much with the RGB controls but should work well for casting a tinted highlight on a subject. The included mount for the camera hot shoe or a tripod worked well and made it easy to aim the light where it’s needed. So, overall a good light for a good price. 5
