Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the main uses for this camera?

A: Astrophotography should be a lot of fun with this camera.

Q: 2. does it take pics too ? and at what specs?

A: This camera records HD video only.

Q: 3. Is the pan/tilt arm removable?

A: The pan arm is not meant to be removed.

Q: 4. Can you remove the spike or is it permanently attached?

A: The spike on the Photo Clam PMC-226 Monopod is not removable. However, it comes with a removable rubber cover so you can cover the spike for the times where it is not needed.

Q: 5. How much is the 4K version going to cost?

A: We have not received work yet on what the pricing will be. But we understand that it will be much less than the ME20F-SH's price.

Q: 6. Can you attach mini tripod foot to the bottom of this item?

A: The bottom of this monopod is a spike. It was not designed for it.

Q: 7. I use a Vanguard monopod with my Tamron 150-600 paired with a Nikon D750. When mounted it forms a "T" which can be carried across my chest with a shoulder strap. Not happy carrying it in that "T" position, I've been shopping for a simple tilt head without a quick release. The Slik SH-707E appears to be the answer to my prayers. Your thoughts...?

A: The Slik SH-707E 2-Way Pan/Tilt Head has a quick release as do 99% of tripods do these days. Might this work for you? Oben BD-02 Mini Ball Head B&H # OBBD02

Q: 8. What is the native ISO for this camera?

A: This camera has a base ISO of 800.

Q: 9. So... 1080 60p for 20k? what makes this camera better than an A7sii??

A: When comparing gear, consideration for what the intended use of that piece is necessary. The Canon ME20F-SH and the Sony a7S II are for two different markets. The a7S II is meant more for the indie/commercial filmmaker budgets and the Canon ME20F-SH is for industrial, documentary and/or high end commercial/Hollywood budget productions. For the cost you get better low light performance than the a7S II and that comes into play when image quality is paramount. Also it is not just about shooting in normal low light situations, it also allows using high f stops on long lenses , or shooting underwater (it gets dark quickly there) or night aerial videography.

Q: 10. Does the camera write to an inserted memory card? Or, is the bandwidth of the recording stream so big that the camera must be hardwired to an external memory module to record movies?

A: With the Canon ME20F-SH, you record the video to an external recorder such as the Atomos Ninja Blade. The recording stream is not so enormous as you might think. Remember, this is a just a Super35 sensor with only a 2.26 MP's. You may be confusing the high ISO with with pixels. Even then it would be only a 4MP camera. You can compare this with Sony's a7S II which is a 12MP video camera and it records 4K internally. Note: While the ME20F-SH does have a card slot, that is only for firmware updates.

[Brass] I use this filter on a 24-70 2.8 lens that cost around $, and I wouldn't use anything other than Heliopan for my job.

[3 x 2.7 x 0.5"] Cleary well made and well packaged to arrive safely. Use it on my RF 501.2 with my R5 and it simply gets out of the way as the pictures look great.

[3 x 2.7 x 0.5"] Not a lot to elaborate on. The filter is very well made, I especially like that it's brass rather than aluminum. What I was looking for was one very high quality filter to use on all my lenses that would impair the image quality the least and provide protection. When I first received it I held it up in front of my eyes to compare looking through the filter vs my naked eye. I know this isn't a very accurate way to compare so take this as you will, but the filtered image looked sharper, less glare and contrastier colors than without. Go figure. All in all a great filter, but an expensive one.

[Clear] This filter seems very well manufactured. It doesn't appear to affect the camera's images at all.

[0.02 lb] I have purchased this brand of filter in the past and they have never disappointed. This purchase is no exception. The price may be on the high end but the consistent quality is reassuring.

[Clear] This filter seems to do exactly what it was designed to do. It protects the front element on my lens with no degradation in picture quality. The craftsmanship is also second to none. It feels very well made.

[Multi Coated] I wanted to get the best clear 82mm filter for my Sony 16-35mm GM lens. Even though I always used B+W for my cheaper lenses after doing some research I decided to go with Heliopan and wasn't disappointed. The build is great and the glass is super clear. I was concerned if it is going to vignette at 16mm or if I will be able to keep the hood on or not and I can confirm that everything fits and works great.

[Multi Coated] I use this on my Canon 24-70mm f2.8It's wide enough that I don't see any added vignetting, clear enough that I see no ghosting or flares, and seems to be hight quality threading. ........

[Brass] Heliopan is pricey but it makes sense to me to put a high-quality filter on my pricey Canon L series lens. I like the materials - the brass ring construction - the brass doesn't seem to get married forever to the lens so I can swap out the filter for a polarizer when needed.
