A: The flash tube needs to be replaced when you are getting no flash out of the Profoto head. Tubes can easily be replaced by a plug and play procedure.

A: I believe it is the same tube for the B1, B1x, D1 and D2. But I dont own a D2. The best way to get your answer is check the replacement tubes for the B1 and B1x on the B&H online site...

A: The Profoto Flashtube, 600 Watt/Seconds, UV Coated - for ComPactPlus Monolight, B&H # PRFTUVCPP • MFR # 331511, was the correct flash tube for use with the older Profoto ComPact-R 600 Monolight strobes. Unfortunately, both the strobes and the flash tubes were discontinued around 2010 and are no longer available for purchase. None of the current Profoto flash tubes would be compatible with the older Profoto ComPact 600 monolights, and there are no recommendations for third-party flash tubes for use with this unit. Profoto does not recommend using any flashtubes other than the one that the unit was designed around. Using another flashtube could have adverse affects on the units power board and potentially cause failures.

[2] When the battery in a UPS goes out, there isn’t much of a warning. My UPSs are all pretty old, so there’s always the fear of not being able to find a replacement battery. When one went out recently I found a replacement battery for it in seconds at B&H, in stock and ready to ship. Had it in a couple days. 5
