Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, is this item has a Shown reflector?

A: Although the reflector is not included, you can purchase the Elinchrom Wide Angle, Umbrella Reflector, 6-1/3", 95 Degrees, for Elinchrom Flash Heads, B&H # ELR6 to work with this light. https://bhpho.to/2JWyZvd

Q: 2. If I'm using Phottix Indra, do I still need to get an external receiver?

A: The Indra has a receiver built in.

Q: 3. Will it take a 9mm shaft? (Hate to be picky.)

A: The Manfrotto 026 Lite-Tite Swivel Umbrella Adapter will only accept an umbrella shaft up to 8mm.

Q: 4. Can this be triggered by pocket wizard?

A: Only if a PocketWizard is attached to it; it does not have a built-in PW receiver.

Q: 5. Can these be used as continuous light as well?

A: The Dlite has a modeling light but it would not be a recommended use of it to be used for video.

Q: 6. Will these flashes work on the Panasonic GH5?

A: These flashes will work with a Panasonic GH5.

Q: 7. Has anybody seen a lit of the various flash durations for these? I know they report 1/800th at full power, but what are the flash durations at, say, 1/2, or 1/16th? I can't find anything like this listed anywhere. I'm considering the new HS transmitter, and these durations are going to be important.

A: Hi,There is no published flash duration data for lower settings. Generally, theFastest flash duration is always at full flash power for our units, and it gets slower when you decrease flash power. The reason is that by reducing the flash power you also decrease the capacitor voltage and lower voltage will give a longer, slower flash duration. This rule does not apply for ELC units as they are using a different technology.A global rule at minimum power the flash duration will be around 40% slower.I hope this helps.Regards,Will HBrand Manager Lighting, MAC Group US

Q: 8. Hi, im looking for a power pack then can handle 3 of these strobes at once. I need it for on location shoots where there's no electricity.

A: A portable solution for powering 3 Elinchrom monolights at once is the Elinchrom Godox Portable Power Inverter, B&H # ELGPI. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with a Sekonic Litemaster Pro L-478DR using its own Pocketwizard transmitter? If not, can Pocketwizard receivers be connected to them to work?

A: If you are referring to the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U-EL Series Light Meter for Elinchrom EL Skyport System, B&H # SEL478DRELU, then it would be fully compatible for use with the Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4/4 Softbox To Go Kit as packaged. If you instead own the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U Light Meter for PocketWizard System, B&H # SEL478DRU, it would not be directly compatible for use with the Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4/4 Softbox To Go Kit. However, you may use the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U Light Meter for PocketWizard System with the light kit by connecting the included Elinchrom EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus (B&H # ELSTP) to the synchro terminal on the bottom of the light meter with the Metz 36-50 Standard Sync Cord, B&H # ME5548. When you press the MEASURE button on the meter, it will trigger the transmitter connected via the cable and trigger your lights. If If you are using PocketWizard remotes with the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U Light Meter for PocketWizard System and the light kit, the light meter will communicate directly with the PocketWizard remotes. However, you will have to connect the PocketWizard remotes to the Elinchrom monolight strobes via the 1/8 (3.5mm) sync terminal on the rear of the monolights via the PC sync cables included with the PocketWizard remotes. The PocketWizard remotes are not directly compatible with the Elinchrom Skyport receivers built into the light fixture, so they have to be connected via the sync cable. If you do not have a sync cable, the PocketWizard PC1N Locking PC Sync Cable (1'), B&H # WIPC1NPC, would work for your usage needs.

Q: 10. Does the modeling light stay on during flash? I'm hoping to use this at low power with a large aperture...

A: You can set the modeling lamp on the D-Lite RX4 to stay on while the flash fires.

[Yes] We installed this in a rehabbed church space that's now a contemporary art gallery flush mounted it to an exposed beam and it looks and works great. That said, it's only been about a week, so maybe I'll report back later if I have any complaints! I was surprised that, for its length, there are only 2 mounting holes on either end, so I fear that it may sag over time. But again, too soon to tell. Where it does mount in those 2 places, it's on a solid plastic end cap/brace, so it seems like it will hold up well. It weighs about 85 pounds, so we had 3 people to install. We had to go about 17 feet up to the beam, we leveled, marked and pre-drilled & drove lag bolts into the beam and then used two extension ladders on either side to climb and carefully slide the projection screen/case up on the ladder's rails. Our 3rd person was on a 10ft ladder in the middle and was there as a spotter for extra support. It was then quite easy to hook it on to the lag bolts once we slid it to the top. All in all, it's an easy install, we opened the box and had the job done in less than 4 hours. Just be sure you have the wiring supplies and the proper mounting hardware and you'll have no problem!

[1.3] This screen was installed in a small conference room with an NEC projector. The screen can be wall or ceiling mounted, and this flexibility came in handy when we had to switch to a ceiling mount at the last moment. The screen presents very well, and is unobtrusive when retracted. The tensioning system works nicely, and we didn't have to change any of the factory settings for the drop. I would have liked to see some additional mounting holes for attaching the screen to studs in the wall, so the installer has more options for wall mounting.

[120 VAC/60 Hz] This Screen was easy to install. It took 3 people and 2 ladders to get the job done. The remote is really not needed but i opted to install it as well. The motor runs really smooth. The screen is nice and wide. A really good buy.

[Front] I installed in my living room in between ceiling joists. It works great. I use it with a Panasonic HD projector. It impresses everyone who walks in the room. Has a clean appearance when retracted. Note: it didn't come with a 12v trigger as both the B&H customer service rep and myself thought it did. We both misunderstood the description (it's optional.) The part was available at Da-Lite for $80 and came with no instructions. I got it to work after a few emails and chats with da-lite. Also, I ended up placing some holes in the top of the case to mount using 8 Lag bolts into the 2nd story floor structure. All the hardware that comes with it assumes you will have access to hang it from the top which requires access via the side while it's in it's final position. I was putting it in a hole the size of the case in my finished ceiling so that method would not work ( I would have had to remove and re-install a lot of drywall). I knew this before I purchased by reading the installation instructions so no worries just a fact and maybe a consideration for future changes to the case or just the directions.

[Front] We use the screen in our church sanctuary once or twice a month. Installing it was an adventure with the weight and length, but several sections of scaffolding and a couple friends made the install move along nicely. The instructions for wiring were right on and it worked first try! The image is right on and visible the entire length of our viewing area (over 100').
