Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will is work with profoto B2 light?

A: You could use this with a B2.

Q: 2. Hi I just got this stand in and was very disappointed because the stand is too tall! Im assuming I just fit the pieces together right?

A: Yes. The vertical pole is designed with 2 pieces but the upper pole section isn't required to use the stand. I also have a problem with the upper pole installed as it's too tall for my studio ceiling. However, in my circumstance, by leaving the upper pole off, the vertical adjustment with just the lower pole is all that I need due to the size of my softboxes. I have read where others have used a metal hack-saw to cut the upper pole to an acceptable height based on their requirements.

Q: 3. does it work with YPT 210?

A: I'm sorry, but this stand will not fit the YPT210. I would recommend considering a folding keyboard stand like B&H # AUKSPL2X instead.

Q: 4. Can the lower section of the column be removed/unscrewed from the legs?

A: No, the legs are not made to come off of the lower section of the Manfrotto 231B Column Stand with Sliding Arm (8').

Q: 5. Does this stand fit the Yamaha Piaggero NP-V60 keyboard?

A: This Yamaha stand is compatible and recommended for the Yamaha Piaggero NP-V60 Lightweight Digital Piano.

Q: 6. Will this hold a Bowens Gemini 500 monolight with a soft box ?

A: No. It will hold the monolight with no problem but using a softbox will cause it tip with the slightest movement, unless some weight is placed on the opposite leg. Also, there is not much clearance to adjust the angle of the softbox. It is an awesome stand for a single light. I have 2 of them and one I use as a camera tripod when shooting in studio. The pistol grip allows for very quick adjustments.

Q: 7. Would this stand and two of the spring clamps serve to hold a camera on one of the grips, and a laptop table and laptop on the other?

A: It is a beast, I have done exactly what you asked. In addition to many other creative things. Using super clamps I put a rod on a clamp and hung multiple lamps off the rod. I have a heavy monfrotto weight clamped to the bottom of the upright to keep it balanced. I have built trays that carry laptops. I use multiple clamps on the upright. Superclamps are an alternative to the spring clamp. When you get too much load on a spring clamp it can slip. In that case use a superclamp to support it or just use a superclamp.

Q: 8. Considering this stand with an Einstein strobe and 86 plm. Will it support that system? What is the largest soft box it can accommodate?

A: I use it with my Einstein and 86 PLM! Works great.

Q: 9. Can I use this Yamaha L3C stand for Yamaha p-255?

A: No you can not. The part # YAL255B is the correct stand for the Yamaha P-255.

Q: 10. Will this fit a PSR-76?

A: That particular model is not mentioned as compatible. Your question would be better directed to Yamaha.

[360°] This is perfect if you want to use a monitor with a racing simulator setup (as in a chair setup you wheel over to your desk), but also wish to use it at your desk like a normal display.

The reach and steadiness of the arm is beyond reproach: even perched at an extreme angle with a DD wheel setup vibrating nonstop, this holds steady.

[17 lb] best monitor mount i've found... i have several now

...from someone who's tried a lot, nothing worse than a chinsy mount, and this one is heavy duty, adjustable spring tensioners... just be prepared to update cable lengths as you'll require 36" onto whatever cable you use now

[20.0" / 50.8 cm] Better quality than I expected. I use it for a computer keyboard that I can move off my desk area. Has enough room on the side to use my thumbwheel mouse.

[17 lb] Currently holding a Cintiq Pro 24 having bolted the arm to a wood desk of about 2cm thickness. Base, pole, arm, and VESA mount all don't budge. There's a slight give to the rotating hinge at the very tip of the arm — probably about two degrees — but it sits firmly when not actively being rotated if that makes sense.

Attached display is about 16 lbs but is easy to move around, especially upwards using the assistance of the spring in the arm, and when lowered it can even take a slight lean against it as I work on the drawing display. Overall pleased — though it is a bit expensive, I feel like this thing will outlast anything else on the desk, even the desk itself.

[22 x 13.65 x 8"] Easy to assemble and very sturdy. Great for standing occasionally at a sit down job.

[17 lb] The white model *does not* include the grommet mount, despite what B&H's listing details say here. Only the black and aluminum do, per Ergotron's website.

This is perhaps due to white being less suitable for offices? Nevertheless I find the white quite handsome even with a black monitor. Arm is solid, nice build quality (white is metal not plastic), smooth adjustments, good reach with 34-inch ultrawide.

Grommet mount can be purchased separately, model numbers 98-034 or 98-017.

[20.0" / 50.8 cm] This desk mount monitor arm is perfect for my LG Ultrawide monitor. It was easy to put together and attach to my sit/stand desk. It's sturdy and a bit on the heavy side, but it works great.

[360°] ...i have been buying mounts over the years; setting up, moving and replacing many studio/offices during the covid era. and for the moment, this ergotron LX HD Series is my new favorite in terms of quality, build, articulation, adjustibility and overall function.

These are not small. and these are not cheap. but if you want solid quality, they certainly fit the bill.

... a few suggestions / lessons learned .

(1) always use best cables with lots and lots of ties ... and keep in mind you'll need no less than say a 3meter lengths. that's 2meter to lace up the arm to your desk, then additional length to reach the port replicator or computer. (i' use 3meters the most, and 5 meters are my favorite).

(2) hardwood desktops or millwork is a must. the amount of force transmitted onto the deskclamp is basic phyics. And at the risk of stating the obvious, do not expect pressboard or light-weight consoles to hold.

(3) never can have enough pole rings (PN#97-844). ergotron is great at supplying necessary hardware in their kits, with exception of the pole rings. ... for some reason they seem to skimp and only ever send one ring with the monitor LX-sit-stand kit. and if you want to mount the keyboard to the desktop kit, an additional ring is needed.

All told, the ergotron LX HD series sit-stand products are top-shelf and premium...

my recommendation, if you've the time, would be to contact BHPhoto tech team, who i am sure may offer better advice and options beyond my little write-up.

keep well, everyone ! and stay healthy.
