Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there also soft boxes included?(:

A: Comes with two soft boxes. I bought with two umbrellas as well, which I used shooting 141 head and shoulders photos on my first assignment. Everything but the synch cord worked perfectly.

Q: 2. I have a Pentax K3II and a Sigma 610 DG Super flash. I want to know how to do to be able to connect a flash strobe kit through a radio trigger. Which ones would be compatible for my K3II in order to be able to make the strobes functional and, if possible, also to use the Sigma? What do you recommend buying in addition to this kit?

A: I would recommend purchasing the Vello FreeWave LR Kit with 2 Receivers, B&H # VERFWLRK, for your usage needs. The Impact Two Monolight Kit (220V), B&H # IMEX100A2LKX, has a 1/8 (3.5mm) miniphone sync terminal on the rear of the strobe monolight. The Vello FreeWave LR Kit comes with a miniphone to miniphone cable, so you may connect the Vello FreeWave LR receiver to the Impact monolight. The receiver also has a hot shoe on the top of the unit, onto which you may mount the Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash. As the kit I listed above comes with two receivers, you may connect one receiver to the Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash, and one to one of the monolights in the Impact monolight kit. As the Impact monolights have built-in optical slaves, the unit without the Vello receiver will trigger when it sees the light output from the light fixture with the receiver. Do note the output of the Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash will have to be set manually when using this setup. There is no option that will work and retain TTL automatic flash capability with this setup.

Q: 3. How long is the sync cord? Can you buy a sync cord in longer lengths?

A: The included sync cable is 15 feet long. You can an extension like the Impact Sync Cord Male PC to Female PC (16') B&H # IMPCMPCF16.

Q: 4. I was just wondering if anyone has replaced the modelling lamp with an LED light bulb? I imagine you could get a lot more light output from an LED bulb, especially a cree bulb. I understand it would have to be the dimmable variety...

A: It has not been tested by the manufacture. It is not recommended to do that as you can damage the electronics if there is a compatibility issue.

Q: 5. I just received my impact EX-100A monolight today. And realized my cord is a European cord. I wanted to know if I am able to get an adapter for it so that it works, or do I have to return it?

A: Hi Sharlene, you have bought the 220V AC unit, so, you must know if where you are you have that electricity. If you are, you just need to buy the adapter. I have used mine in Chile where the electricity comes at 220V AC, but I needed an adapter to plugging in.

Q: 6. Are there two lights included with this unit. Are the lights 5600K?

A: Yes, the kit comes with two Impact One Monolights. They are strobe type lights and are daylight rated.Note the camera you use this with needs to have a sync port or you will need to get an adapter or wireless sync. And this is made for still photos not video.

Q: 7. does this unit have hss?

A: No it doesn't have HSS

Q: 8. I have a Nikon D3300, Do I need to buy the PowerTrigger transmitter in order to make the Flash work? Or the sync cord will do the job.

A: I am not familiar with Nikon but I can tell you that the sync cord works with my Canon DSLR. As long as there is an outlet on the side of the camera, which there should be, it should work fine.

Q: 9. How many strobes. How many soft boxes in the kit.? Modeling lights?

A: This kit would include two Impact EX 100 monolights, two softboxes with speed rings, two sync cables, two power cords, flashtube/modeling lamp for each head, a reflector for each head, spare fuses for each head, Impact 8 ft light stands and a 1 year warranty on each head. The only thing not included in this kit is a bag.

Q: 10. Im Looking for lights that will work for an ecommerce site that will produce an all white pure background with no grey. If i buy two of these kits will I be able to shoot a full body shot on a live model and will the background come out white? my model is 5 10 / 5'11.. thanks

A: I The only way I believe these or any two lights will produce a pure white background is to use a green screen background and remove the background (or make it white) with software. If the exposer is correct for the subject, the exposer will always be somewhat less for the background the difference may be acceptable, but not absolute. can think of one vay these only way these (or any two

[Front] We use the electrol screens almost exclusively in close to a 100 locations. They are versatile and durable.

[Quiet] The screen was simple to mount (we used lag bolts and attached the screen to a wall.) The screen did not come with instructions on how to install the switch for a 120v motor...complicated the electrical install was inconsistent wire colors on the switch and the screen. After consulting an electrician and enduring his derision for working with this product - he correctly intuited the correct wiring configuration. A big thanks to the customer service at B&H. We ordered the screen 2 weeks from a graduation. The shipper lost the screen for nearly a week, without informing us. I contacted the shipper, who responded with a long distance shoulder shrug - explaining they would look for it again. Unable to motivate the shipper, I called B&H - they got involved, and the screen was in my driveway 36 hours later. Thanks B&H.

[Yes] I use it in a classroom at a university. It's got a great surface, brilliant white, big and more than I expected. It looks like a big LCD screen on the wall, way cool.

[16:10] This Screen was easy to install. It took 3 people and 2 ladders to get the job done. The remote is really not needed but i opted to install it as well. The motor runs really smooth. The screen is nice and wide. A really good buy.

[Yes] I installed in my living room in between ceiling joists. It works great. I use it with a Panasonic HD projector. It impresses everyone who walks in the room. Has a clean appearance when retracted. Note: it didn't come with a 12v trigger as both the B&H customer service rep and myself thought it did. We both misunderstood the description (it's optional.) The part was available at Da-Lite for $80 and came with no instructions. I got it to work after a few emails and chats with da-lite. Also, I ended up placing some holes in the top of the case to mount using 8 Lag bolts into the 2nd story floor structure. All the hardware that comes with it assumes you will have access to hang it from the top which requires access via the side while it's in it's final position. I was putting it in a hole the size of the case in my finished ceiling so that method would not work ( I would have had to remove and re-install a lot of drywall). I knew this before I purchased by reading the installation instructions so no worries just a fact and maybe a consideration for future changes to the case or just the directions.

[1.0] We installed this in a rehabbed church space that's now a contemporary art gallery flush mounted it to an exposed beam and it looks and works great. That said, it's only been about a week, so maybe I'll report back later if I have any complaints! I was surprised that, for its length, there are only 2 mounting holes on either end, so I fear that it may sag over time. But again, too soon to tell. Where it does mount in those 2 places, it's on a solid plastic end cap/brace, so it seems like it will hold up well. It weighs about 85 pounds, so we had 3 people to install. We had to go about 17 feet up to the beam, we leveled, marked and pre-drilled & drove lag bolts into the beam and then used two extension ladders on either side to climb and carefully slide the projection screen/case up on the ladder's rails. Our 3rd person was on a 10ft ladder in the middle and was there as a spotter for extra support. It was then quite easy to hook it on to the lag bolts once we slid it to the top. All in all, it's an easy install, we opened the box and had the job done in less than 4 hours. Just be sure you have the wiring supplies and the proper mounting hardware and you'll have no problem!

[Quiet] From an installers point of view, this screen really is nice. Install a top and bottom rail and the screen slides over the rails for an easy installation. The screen snaps to the rear of the frame for a very tidy and clean cut appearance. High quality frame, packaged well, easy to install... a good deal all the way around.
