The fully passive circuit design uses only a few components so as to ensure that the sound is not detrimentally affected by the monitor controller. To accommodate both professional and consumer equipment, the rear panel of the device features a pair of XLR/TRS combo connectors for the inputs, a pair of XLR connections for the monitor outputs, and a dedicated 3.5mm TRS stereo I/O path.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I plug a stereo plug into the mono input? I have two Saramonic UwMic9s receivers, and want to connect one to each of the mono inputs.

A: As the Saramonic UwMic9s is outputting a true stereo signal, and the L/R inputs on the Saramonic SR-AX100 Passive 2-Channel Audio Adapter for DSLR Cameras are mono, there is a strong chance that each mono input of the SR-AX100 will only pass one side of the signal received by the UwMic9s through the device to the camera, eliminating one of the transmitter signals at this stage.

Q: 2. Do I need to purchase anything else beside the antena?

A: This should work with any receiver but this antenna needs DC power. Many receivers can supply DC at the antenna port, but if yours does not you'd need to consider how you are going to supply power to it. You can use a DC power supply if you are close enough to an AC outlet. If not, you'd need to supply power via a DC inserter between the receiver antenna jack and the cable to the antenna. Lectrosonics makes this. Part number is BIAST and also needs a CH12 power supply.

Q: 3. Can I connect 3 mono inputs to mix them to the output?

A: No, this adapter can handle either two mono mics, or one stereo mic.

Q: 4. Will this work with the Ronin MX?

A: The Ronin 2 thumb controller is not designed to be used with any other Ronin series product.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with ronin s??

A: This is only listed as being compatible with the Ronin 2.

Q: 6. The Kopul version of this had a cold shoe mount that was terrible adn would disassemble in the field when the screw fell out of the bottom from too much stress of mounting receivers on it. Does this product suffer the same problem?

A: I worked with Saramonic for 2-years and that whole time, I have not seen any defects of this product, or heard of an issue like you describe. I also have 2 in my possession for those 2-years and had no issue. My best suggestion is to try the item for yourself and if it's not up to your standards, return it for a refund or another product. We also offer a one-year warranty for full replacement if there's any problem. I think you're going to be happy with the product.

Q: 7. Will this work with Deity D3 Mic?

A: I'm trying to connect the Deity D3 Mic to the SR-AX100 to the Canon 80D. But doesn't work. What am I doing wrong.

Q: 8. Is this wireless? Can one unclip the controller from the mount as with the old thumb controller?

A: The Ronin 2 Thumb Controller is not wireless. You'd be using the more powerful Ronin 2 remote which comes with the Ronin 2.

Q: 9. Do these work in interiors and exterior?

A: The Deity Microphones BF1 Passive Omnidirectional Butterfly Antenna (Pair, 470 MHz to 1 GHz) can be used indoor and outdoors. It is IP65 rated for dust and water resistance.

Q: 10. Can I get a cable extension for use on a Steadicam? What LEMO connector is it?

A: Unfortunately there is not dedicated extension cable for the DJI Ronin 2 Thumb Controller. DJI suggests using a USB-A extension cable to extend the included control cable's reach. A USB-A male to female cable that supports data transmission will suffice, such as the Pearstone USB 3.0 Type A Male to Type A Female Extension Cable - 6' (BH #PEUSB3AA6).

[20 dBu] Title says it all. Pro Tools suites are connected via Dante. Volume control on Dante monitor interface is tiny and inconvenient. We run the audio through this to control input to powered monitors.

[1.775 lb] The build quality of this monitor controller is really what impressed me the most. The actual unit itself is pretty simple; it's only a knob and two buttons, and it's passive. From what I can tell after some simple A/B testing, it's completely transparent. That being said, I would not trust the stereo balance at the extreme low positions (-36 or -85). This isn't a fault of the unit, it's just the nature of a potentiometer. To have 100% perfect stereo balance throughout the entire range of the knob's travel, you would need to spend over $1000, so this will provide excellent results for all but the most discerning studios. Let's be real here, you're not buying this if you're in a million dollar studio.

If you're like me and thinking about buying a cheaper controller (I'm willing to bet I know which M brand and B brand you're looking at! ), spend the extra money and get a product that's made with quality materials and actually has detailed specifications provided from the manufacturer. You'll be glad you did.

[20 dB] Sturdy all-metal construction, with nothing that can break. Intuitive connector layout. Most compact such device available. Also packaged in a nice storage box. and relatively inexpensive, so buy a spare.

[20 dBu] I have an audio lab and I use some Genelec near field powered monitors through a patch bay. I needed to keep everything balanced to the monitors, so this did the job nicely. The pot has a very good feel and the mono and mute buttons come in handy.

[0.001%] It is an ideal volume control between my mixer and self-powered studio monitors. Nice fit and finish but smooth and elegant in operation too. The single large volume knob is smooth and allows for granular level of volume control. The mute button is a nice touch too. You can see, feel, and hear the German engineering that produced this.

[10 Hz to 40 kHz] I have a modest home studio and I hooked the MoCo up between my old faithful Edirol interface and my little Genelecs  Everything works fine. It is very quiet and no issues so far.

[Passive] Amazing build quality - just as shown. Sound quality appears transparent. So far so good - would recommend for a well priced, well built monitor controller.

[1] I recently upgraded my studio with a 16-in/16/out audio interface, but with no headphone jack and no monitor control. This little box solved my monitor control issue perfectly. Extremely transparent to my ears, very solid build, all the controls have a nice feel to them, and great looks. The wood sides are more of a walnut color than what's shown on the website, which was perfect. Highly recommended.
