Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When it says this will scan movie film (Super 8, etc.) is that one frame at a time or can you digitize an entire reel into a video?

A: One frame at the time and than you can crate a video on post production

Q: 2. What are the video specs for Super 8 scanning?

A: When one is using the Kodak Scanza Digital Film Scanner for Super 8 scanning, their are no "video specs", because the Scanza scanner is a one frame at a time scanner. Slide shows are possible but not motion picture.

Q: 3. My negatives are somewhat curled. Does this hold the negatives flat enough during the scan?

A: Yes it does

Q: 4. does the device run the film through at speed? So that you can see it in its original moving images? 8mm

A: Unfortunately, a moving image cannot be seen when scanning the frames on 8mm film.

Q: 5. power assembly instructions ?

A: The device is powered through a USB port on the side of the unit. The "power assembly" such as it is, consists of a USB cable and an AC adapter. The large end of the USB cable fits into the AC adapter and the AC adapter is plugged into an AC outlet. The smaller fitting on the other end of the cable fits into the USB port, or opening, on the side of the scanner.

Q: 6. assembly for power ?

A: Power is provided only through the device that the USB is connected to. No batteries, or outside power cord.

Q: 7. Is the HDMI port type A or type C? I would like to connect to a VGA monitor and need to know what kind of adapter to purchase.

A: It comes with a Type A to Type C HDMI cable, the port on the back is Type C.

Q: 8. Will this connect and work with either my Apple iMac and/or M1 MacMini running Big Sur operating system?

A: Yes this will work with Big Sur, just be sure to update the firmware and you should be all set.

Q: 9. Hi, does a Kodak Scanza Digital Film Scanner able to use 220v or they able to power up by USB cable only? Thanks

A: The AC power supply that comes with this is universal meaning it can take 110 to 220 VAC. You will need to order a plug adapter for it so you can connect to your electrical mains. You will find a suitable one on this page. https://bhpho.to/2mZZNRi

Q: 10. Can I use this scanner with Epson Scan Software or image capture? Or do you have to use proprietary Kodak software?

A: This scanner is self contained and does not need a computer to work with it. It does not work with any software. It is like a hard-drive. When you plug it into a computer via the USB cable it will come up like a memory card/ hard-drive on your computer.

[2012] Finally Ive waited for the book that takes you beyond the guide book that comes with the camera. It goes in to more detail of the things you can do with the Z6. Theres a lot to learn and this book meets the job.

[2012] Not knowing what to expect, I was impressed with what this can do. It was simple to use. I ran 400, 50+ year old slides thru it in about 4 hours.

[2012] I have a lot of negatives which i have had stored in proper sleeves. Any this is fast, when compared with Epson Artisan 730 and time saving.
You can salvage your old negatives. And once converted to digital media, it opens up the world for you to edit them, enhance them in Photo Shop. You will be glad you did it. Because most of us have those old time memories of family. Bring it back to life. Our children have grown in digital world. They are not going to bother about the negatives . But once i have converted into digital media, i have been able to share these pictures with my children.

[288] I was expecting just an explanation of how all the multitude of functions work but I was pleasantly surprised to find very useful shooting tips that transcend any product manual. Very pleased with the purchase.

[2012] David's guidebooks are the best for practical advice on getting to know a new camera. Not a photography instruction manual - was not meant to be! But perfect for tweaking a camera for best practices and daily use! I have quite a collection of his books!

[288] I am very pleased with the scanner. Ease of use is 4 stars, quality of scan is 4 stars (for the price). I did not expect the quality to be so good considering the price point. I know there are higher resolution scanners with image improvement software, but this scanner did exactly what I was looking for. I am 3500 slides into a project of about 7500 slides for scanning.
My only observation for concern, and it's not a scanner problem, is you need to frequently monitor the light screen for dust, it is not readily visible on the display if dust is showing up on the scan. Luckily there is a dust removal wand included with the scanner, but it is operator dependent to check for dust and remove it.
I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who needs to convert lots of slides, it takes about 15 seconds to get the slide out of the carousel and insert it into the scanner, the capture and saving of the image takes about 5 seconds on high resolution. Total directory size is about 14GB after 3500 slides.

[288] The quality of the scans are very good. I was able to scan slides quickly, but 135 film strips took more time. The display image was very good. A great tool at a great price

[2012] I needed this quickly fora project I was working on. I love 2 day shipping. I had slides I needed to scan in order to add them to a slideshow. The function of the machine is very basic. You can adjust things in the machine, but it’s a little easier to do it in the computer. You will need a memory card and it’s as simple as finding the compatible tray, put the slide in, insert the tray. You will see your image. You can simply capture the image as is, or make your adjustments and then capture it. And onto the next one. It’s not a super quick process, but not too long either. It achieved just what I expected from it! Happy with my purchase.
