[4x USB-A 2.0] I have previously owned Buffalo Linkstation devices and have found them to be very reliable and reasonably priced. The Buffalo Linkstation 210 was very easy to setup for someone with networking experience. It took about twenty minutes to configure the network settings, shares, users and permissions. I am very satisfied with the file transfer performance and love that I can backup one Buffalo Linkstation NAS device to another Linkstation or to an attached external USB hard drive.

[Yes] This is a kit you have to put together but it does not require any tools. There is a fold-out Quick Installation Guide that comes with it with pictures to guide you in installing the drives. There is no manual to read included so there was a lot of winging it. Assembly was pretty easy and made the correct assumption to plug it into the network and power it up. There was a link on the guide for reregistration which worked well for the NAS but not the two drives. There is a second link to find.synology.com that you need to follow which will update the NAS and its drives to the latest software and walk you through configuration. You need at least one directory and at least one folder in that directory to start transferring files. Once I figured that out it acted just like a normal computer drive. After configuring the NAS, my PC automatically found it under Network using File Explorer and sees it as just another drive. Went to another PC on the network and it found the NAS just as easily. Moved all my photos and videos to the new NAS and arranged them into subject matter. That is time consuming but needed to be done. So far this seems like a wise purchase.

[Yes] I'm a photographer. When I order a new MacBook Pro M1 Max in October, I purchased the Synology 24TB DS218 NAS for less than upgrading the MacBook from a 1TB SSD to a 6TB SSD, and a third less than upgrading to an 8TB SSD. The Synology software made it quick and easy to configure the NAS, and when I attached USB drives to the NAS enclosure, transferring large amounts of files to the 24TB NAS through the Synology desktop was very fast. So now I have years of photo files, music files, and video files all in one place that I can access from multiple computers. I recently ordered a Synology DS220+ NAS from B&H that I'm using to back up the 24TB DS218 NAS.

[1x VGA ] For all our storage needs - this is the solution! Not only is it reliable, it's one-stop shopping for our NAS and IP camera needs. Cloud storage is the new kid on the block - but this is the O.G when you want your data and videos in-house. I highly recommend it or its other siblings of different capacities.

[DDR3 1600 MHz] After studying the field, we ordered the Buffalo ls120. This comes configured with 2 drives as raid 1. It was particularly important to insure from data loss. Storage space was secondary. NAS of this quality are usually more expensive (and with more storage than I need). Any device on my LAN can access and share the data without having an attached PC necessary all the time. Other configs are optional, but with raid1, in the unlikely event of one drive failure, the data is still safe and continuously available on the other one. Buffalo would rush a replacement of the failed drive quickly with no interruption.

[8 MB] I had my GoFlex NAS for several years now and somehow its software can not keep up with Mac software updates. This is my first time using Synology DiskStation. Besides noticing faster file transfer, this system offers lots of features and good Control Panel interface. The default setting is Raid 1 - disk mirroring for redundancy.

I am very happy with my purchase. I just hope this will last for a long time like the reliable GoFlex. Thanks Synology and B&H.

[1x 865 W] I bought this DiskStation to replace an aging Western Digital MyCloud device. I wanted a unit that supported RAID 1 disk duplication and allowed for future disk upgrades to a larger capacity. This unit nicely met those requirements. Installing the hard drives in the DiskStation was easy, I just followed the diagrams in the instructions. The instructions then gave me a link to a web address where I registered the product and downloaded the disk management system. The system installed and then formatted the hard drives. I opted to do a disk check as part of the formatting, so I let it run overnight. Next day it was finished and ready to go. I use this device to store system backups from six different PCs over my home network. I was able to modify my existing backup scripts to point to the new device. I was also able to copy files from my old device to the new one over the network. So far it has worked flawlessly. It is quiet and I like that it spins down the disks when they have been inactive for a period of time. As an added bonus, it backs up my systems faster than the old device did.

[RAID 0/1/5/6] I'm an electrical engineer and work from home and this fit my need s perfectly. I have two networks, one secure network for business and the other for home. This NAS has 4 NICs (2x 10Gbe) and (2x2.5Gbe) which would allow me to manage the NAS for 4 independent networks. I configured it with (5) 4 TB drives configured for RAID 5 and I opted to install two 512 GB Samsung 970 Pro NVMe M.2 512 GB SSDs configured to operate as a cache for the RAID system.
