The 2-pack Shielded CATV Balun from MuxLab Shielded CATV Balun 2-Packallows you to transmit terrestrial RF signals via a single UTP or CAT5e/6/7 STP cable. When used in pairs, this balun allows you to integrate your RF sources such as the Internet and digital cable with a more efficient CAT-structured cabling system. The balun allows you to replace a coaxial cable with a single CAT5e/6/7 cable and supports high-amplified RF signals. In addition, the balun is capable of achieving transmissions up to a distance of 330’ (100 m).

The cast-aluminum enclosure reduces EMI / RFI egress that minimizes the drop in signal strength, making the CATV Balun useful for long distance transmissions. When used in conjunction with other MuxLab CATV Hubs (500300/303), the Shielded CATV Balun simplifies routing solutions and is suitable for use in commercial and home A/V systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello, Can I use the aperture ring on this lens with the Nikon D850?

A: Nikon states on page 20 when using a CPU lens equipped with an aperture ring, lock the aperture at the minimum setting (highest F-number). The ZEISS Milvus 15mm f/2.8 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F, B&H # ZE1528MZF2, is a CPU lens and is designed to adjust the camera's aperture by rotating the command dial on the camera body. If you wish to use the aperture ring, you would have to register the lens with your camera as a Non-CPU lens as indicated on page 218-219 in the Nikon D850 DSLR Camera's instruction manual. As indicated, go to [Setup Menu] [Non-CPU Lens Data], then select a lens number, enter the lens' focal length and set the minimum aperture, the press [OK] to save the settings to see if that will allow you to use the aperture ring.

Q: 2. Hello. I have a question about the warranty on this Zeiss Milvus lens. Does it come with international warranty? (I live in Australia.)

A: The warranty for this lens is USA only, however you have the option to add additional coverage through a company called Square Trade, which provides international coverage. More information regarding the coverage, terms and conditions of the Square Trade protection plans can be found at the following link: http://bhpho.to/1fMHaTB

Q: 3. This focal length is very prone to sagittal coma flare. Does the Otus 28mm resist this? Especially with off axis bright lights?

A: At worst, the flares will look artistic and beautiful ... everything is beautiful through that lens (not kidding !). But yes, stopping the lens down even to 1.8 will likely eliminate it.

Q: 4. Has anyone tried adapting the otus 85 to Fuji GFX50 ? Will there be vignetting ?

A: There would be at least some vignetting using a full-frame lens with a larger sensor like that on the GFX50.

Q: 5. What are the dimensions of this lens with the hood? I want to purchase a lens case for it, and all I can find are the lens dimensions w/out the hood.

A: The lens shade is reversible for storage, so you can use the dimensions that 'include lens caps' which are listed on the data sheet at: a href= http://www.zeiss.com/content/dam/Photography/new/pdf/en/downloadcenter/datasheets_milvus/milvus1485.pdf. target= _blank http://www.zeiss.com/content/dam/Photography/new/pdf/en/downloadcenter/datasheets_milvus/milvus1485.pdf./a

Q: 6. Hows the IR performance of this lens?

A: The ZEISS Milvus lens family are designed for use in the visible spectrum and feature anti-reflection coatings that limits the amount of UV and IR transmission. While the lens can be used for IR applications and includes an IR focusing mark, the light transmission will be below 50% in the NIR range and less over 1,000nm. Our recommendation is to rent the lens and test to see if it meets your particular needs.

Q: 7. What makes it worth a whopping $5K?

A: it renders and incredibly sharp but velvet-y image. drawback (besides the price) this lens is very heavy.

Q: 8. is the manual focus linear or fly by wire?

A: The ZEISS MIlvus lenses are true manual focus and do not rely on electronics or motors to focus the lens groups.

Q: 9. Anyone try mounting the 50mm 1.4 or 2.0 on an APS-C crop camera? Would you get similar to the 85mm Milvus on full frame? Any thoughts?

A: Depending on the camera brand, there are a number of different APS-C sensor sizes with effective crop factors ranging from 1.52x - 1.6x when used with full frame lenses. The ZEISS 50mm lens will create an angle of view ranging from 76mm - 80mm when used on one of these cameras.

Q: 10. Sony?

A: Yes. the following unit will mount but an adapter must be set in its place. Please review the following items. https://bhpho.to/3vUanM0

[1.5 oz (44 g)] This was a perfect fit for my situation. My client only had on four wire shielded cable and there was no way to run a Cat6 or Digital coax to that space. I connected a MuxLab Digital Audio Balun and the problem was resolved. Works Great!

[RJ45 pins 7 & 8] I used two of these baluns to connect a Buttkicker transducer attached to the sofa in my home theatre to the subwoofer output of my AVR over CAT5. They work well, and only requires simple plug and play operation. This allowed me to use the existing CAT5 in my home to connect the second sub, so I didn't have to spend a ton of time fishing and running new cable to support the new sub. So while these products are seemingly expensive for a passive device, if you already have the UTP infrastructure available you can save a lot of time and effort using them instead of pulling new cables. Look for other Muxlab baluns which will allow you to run all kinds of things across UTP. (eg. CCTV, audio, video, hdmi, component video, stereo, vga ect.)

[FCC, CE] These worked great for me. Would totally recommend. Had a small issue with resolution at first try but after a quick call with their tech team i was made aware that 1080p resolution had max distance of 50ft with cat6. 150ft is with 720p or less. All in all, great product. I'll definitely use in future jobs.
