[63.5 mm] I had been following Voigtlanders main website for awhile and saw the 35mm & 21mm new aspherical lenses and could not wait until they became available in the US.  I ordered mine from B&H on 2/10, the first day available.  It was delivered on 2/14.  I tried it out over the weekend and I love its size.  It is small, but not as small as the pancakes lenses.



It has metal, scored grip that allows you to quickly focus the lens.  I was concerned that the focusing knob was too small and might even poke me, but it was not an issue.  The focusing knob may not be as nice as my 28mm Voigtlander lens, but this does the job.


I plan to use this new 35mm on my R2A most of the time and have the 28mm on my R4A most of the time.


I assume the lens will perform well with the aspherical element that the 28mm does not have.  I have been very happy with my 28mm, 50mm and 75mm Voigtlander lenses.  I plan to buy the 21mm f/3.5 later this year.


A couple of things to note that are obvious in the photo of the lens, but they are there.  1) the metal, scored focusing ring 2) the base of the lens is wider than the top - giving the lens an overall slight pyramid shape.

[0.135 lb] This hood is first rate, the twist on attachment system is very solid.

[Thread] It's preference, but I'm digging the results from this 35mm. I use it on a fuji x-pro3 and with the adaptor the focus knob lines up in a weird place which is a little annoying, but that's it. The look is great. I also had the 35mm 1.4 fuji lens but I'm preferring this as far as sheer aesthetics goes. The fuji is great for autofocus and performs great optically.

BTW it can be used on the Nokton 50mm f1.5 ASPH (w/o the filter ring)

[Thread] Comparing to a DSLR lens the Ultron is really small and lightweight . After a couples weeks I can say it is a joy to use , it is very sharp and I didn't notice any distortion .

[0.135 lb] This hood is nice and small. It twists on and snaps in place. To remove, push down twist off. I love it.

[63.5 mm] I purchased the Leica M 11 a couple of months ago and quickly decided that Voigtlander lenses would not only be more economical but lighter and just as good as the Leica's. Out of the 10 lenses lenses that I bought, only two came without lens hood. and while I tried out several advertised on Amazon, they either didn't fit or totally destroyed the look of the camera and lens. Luckily, I found the LH-8 and 10 hoods. They fit perfectly and enhance the lens. I recommend them without hesitation.

[Thread] If you're gong to buy such a superb lens you may as well buy the hood that is meant to be used with it. It is pretty large, but there is no doubt that it will entirely do the job of preventing lens flare. Well designed, sturdy, fits exactly right and looks great. If you've used any of the modern Zeiss M-mount lenses and their bayonet hoods, this is similar- if not a bit heavier built.
