Pairing infrared attenuation and neutral density with a warming 85 filter, the Tiffen 6.6" Water White Glass 85/IRND 1.2 Filterfrom Tiffen 6.6" Water White Glass 85/IRND 1.2 Filteris an all-in-one solution to reduce exposure values and achieving neutral color. The neutral density portion of the filter offers a 4-stop exposure reduction for working with longer shutter speeds or wider aperture settings. The infrared portion attenuates infrared wavelengths to benefit working with CCD and CMOS sensors under difficult lighting conditions where infrared pollution can affect color balance. Finally, the addition of 85 warming filtration balances daylight to 3400K, tungsten balance to easier match varying color temperatures during a shoot. The filter is constructed from Water White optical glass for maintained clarity and measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm to pair well with lightweight or clip-on matte boxes.

Alleviating the need to use multiple filters at once, this filter combines three distinct effects to reduce the number of filter surfaces in use.

IRND 1.2 filter offers a 4-stop exposure reduction to permit working with longer shutter speeds or wider aperture settings than normally required.

Infrared-attenuating design eliminates infrared bleed above 700nm, is proportionate to the neutral density value, and helps to ensure clean, accurate colors and true blacks.

Warming 85 filter decreases the color temperature and converts daylight balance to 3400K tungsten balance.

Constructed from ColorCore technology Water White optical glass for maintained image quality.

Measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm and is ideally suited for use with lightweight clip-on matte boxes.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I need a replacement lens cap, which cap should I buy?

A: My short answer is Buy a Canon replacement cap. I have used non-Canon lens caps in emergency situations. Some snap on securely and others are not as good.

Q: 2. is this a auto lens ?

A: Yes this lens has autofocus capabilities.

Q: 3. How many stops ?

A: If you're asking how many stops the light will be reduced by passing through the diffuser, the answer depends on how close the diffuser is to the subject.Measured with an incident light meter at a distance equal to the width of the diffuser (about 5 feet), the light intensity is reduced by 1.8 stops. For the typical use in lighting a model who would otherwise be under the harsh sun, I'd probably figure on 2 stops as a first guess and work from there.

Q: 4. Is There any difference between using this lens with an adapter and and using the RF 50mm for the EOS R body?

A: The main difference will be slightly better focus performance with the native lens.

Q: 5. Is chromatic aberration is a big problem for this Telescope?

A: The Inspire 100AZ telescope is an achromatic refractor design, so there will be a degree of chromatic aberration, but the views are highly acceptable.

Q: 6. Will it work with a Leica M3?

A: Yes, works fine with the M3.

Q: 7. How do you adjust the programable control ring?

A: The programmable control ring on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.2 S Lens needs to be set from the camera itself. In the custom control settings of the camera you can set the function of the control ring.

Q: 8. Highest useful magnification?

A: The Celestron Inspire 100AZ 100mm f/6.6 Alt-Az Refractor Telescope BH #CEI100AZREF • MFR #22403 comes with (2) eyepieces. A 20mm and a 10mm. The telescope FL divided by the eyepiece FL = magnification power Example: Your telescope FL is 1000 mm and your eyepiece FL is 20 mm. 1000/20= 50x! The image seen in your eyepiece is magnified 50 times!

Q: 9. Do you think this lens would work well for basketball in a gym with mixed lighting?

A: This would be a matter of opinion and based on where you are viewing the game from, but I prefer a zoom lens since the action would be moving constantly. Instead of the Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.2 S Lens, the following 70-180mm lens would be a better choice: https://bhpho.to/479Nq6N.

Q: 10. Can you attach DSLR to this telescope?

A: Yes, you can with the proper T-Adapter and camera specific T-Ring.

[Glass] Great for timelapses. However some say this is the only filter you need to have in your kit. of course that's not true... Im buying more of these.

[Glass] Ever since my first series filter for my Leica M3, back in the 1960's, TIFFEN has not let me down. Same now, as then, but this time for my Panasonic S1H. Just great for a PURE COLOR feel. No color shifts, all balanced color. Professional results.

[Glass] The filter works as advertised. Be aware that sensors have 50% of their pixels in the green so the camera firmware compensates for that. When using the IR filter and daylight white balance a slight green cast could be apparent. Easily fixed by shooting in RAW and/or switching to AWB.

[Glass] I bought this for an upcoming China shoot and paired it with my Sony A7s. I had to return this for the Tiffen 1.2 IRND. I wasn't unhappy with the 2.1 at all. What it came down to was that: I wanted a little more room to create a larger depth of field. This filter does however bend towards a green shift, so make sure you compensate for that in camera.

[Glass] I used this filter on a recent trip to New York. Filter worked great for me. There was very little color cast and I ended up with some great shots.

[Glass] I consider myself a semi-professional photographer and I am extremely satisfied since I bought it two weeks ago... I did not notice any vignetting and overall quality of filter is good , especially if I compare the quality with price. Would definitely recommend
