A: Generally speaking, this type of dolly is best only for expedient moving of the camera between set ups. In order to do on-camera moves, this type of dolly needs track. Here is one solution I recommend for it has studio wheels for off camera moves but then also comes with a set of dolly track wheels. Glide Gear SYL-960 Floor/Track Hybrid Tripod Dolly B&H # GLSYL960 plus it's track: Glide Gear Straight Track with Carry Bag (12') B&H # GLSYL101.
