The four optical elements of the Lens Turbo adapter condense light from the Canon FD full frame lens and project it onto the camera's APS-C sensor allowing the sensor to capture all of the lens' transmitted light, negating the 1.5x crop factor and effectively producing full-frame coverage on non-full-frame sensors. A corresponding increase in the maximum aperture of 1 f-stop makes the lens more effective in low-light situations.

A: Since the FD mount had a mirror between the lens mount on the camera and the sensor, the adapter is essentially a macro tube with NO glass. Rhis makes up the mirrors spacing since oir newer camera are mirrorless. It works just as it would on your FD mount camera. You lose no light relative to an FD mount. Adding a priece of glass would only absorb light, and deflect it wider or narrower. Wider would essentially make it lose light and become a longer focal lengthed lens. While narrowing it would be nice to capture what a full frame sensor sees with more light.If you have a sony e mount camera with a full frame (FE mount) this will work as best as the lens can do. If you have a sony e mount crop sensor (just E mount) then you might look for an adapter with glass. Almost all FD lenses were made for full frame support.

A: While this adapter does take the Canon FD mount, there have been no tests confirming that an M42- Canon FD adapter can work on this successfully. Your results may vary.

A: Hi. Did you check that the zhongyi adapter is for FL Canon Lenses? Canon has several mount types, and i am guessing here but, are the most poppular/new the E may be? what i mean is that my be you have a Canon Lens adapter, but just not the correct mount type. I have a Zhongyi lens adapter, but for Pentax, and the difference is that pentax has the same mount from the 70s (or even before), so i did have this problem.The other issue is that may be you can mount the lens, but what you mean is that the auto-focus is not working. In this case this will never work, because this adapter is for manual focus use only. Even if you lens has an auto focus, the adapter has no chips or electric connection so the lens and the camera can communicate. A: Most FD glass will work with this adapter, but follow the included instruction so you don't damage the camera or lens. Some FL glass will work, it seems to be about 1 out of 3, the lever pin seems to be to long on some and the infinite setting may not be able to be reached on others. It's great on glass that will work.

A: I've used it almost exclusively with the FD 50 f1.4 and it works great. I have the newer FD (the smaller FDn, not the S.C.C. version), so it for sure fits that version.
