Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this run 4 or 6 ohm speakers?

A: The Onkyo TX-8470 Stereo Network A/V Receiver (BH # ONTX8470) are designed for 8 ohm speakers but will operate with 4 -6 ohm speakers as well.

Q: 2. Does this device help me determine the life of my Powerex Pro Rechargeable AA NiMH Batteries? Will it tell me the total rechargeable life of the batteries and not only how much current charge is in them?

A: No, this tester only tells you battery charge and how it reacts to a load, it does not tell you the longevity of the battery.

Q: 3. can you recommend a longer cable to work with this adapter?

A: Since this is an impedance matching transformer, it would be recommended to use an XLR cable of the length of your choice to connect to the XLR female side in order to extend.

Q: 4. Will the mixer introduced latency?

A: No, the Kopul CMCS-1 Passive 3.5mm Microphone Combiner/Splitter should not introduce any latency to the signal chain.

Q: 5. I got this cable with the Senn 600 and when plugged into my Canon 80D it only registers on the LEFT channel, is this because of the cable or because the Senn is a mono mic? Do I need to do something else to have it record bother left and right channels, there are no options on the 80D for that, thanks.

A: The LMT-100 is specifically designed for connection of a mono mic to a camera. Audio should be present on both sides using this cable and should have no issues with the Sennheiser or similar mics. We do however generally recommend the Sennheiser brand cable (KA-600). https://bhpho.to/2gPQ0Wn Please contact a Representative here for additional assistance at 800-606-6969.

Q: 6. if i connect my 100 ohm mic to my dslr 3.5 jack using this transformer, will the recorded sound still have around 100 ohm impedance?

A: This is an impedance matching transformer. It will convert your 100 ohm mic to approx. 2000-3000 ohms to match your cameras mic input. Recorded audio is not measured in impedance, but decibels.

Q: 7. Is this really a transformer, or a simple adapter. If a transformer, what is the ratio?

A: It is a transformer designed to work with DSLRs and consumer grade camcorders. The impedance match specs are not available.

Q: 8. Do this come with remote control?

A: Yes, the Onkyo TX-8470 Stereo Network A/V Receiver comes with a remote control.

Q: 9. Will this work on a Sennheiser shotgun mic?

A: Yes but the Sennheiser KA-600 BH #SEKA600 tends to be more popular for that.

Q: 10. If a device supports sending phantom power out of its 3.5mm mic input, will this adapter/transformer pass the phantom power up the XLR cable to the mic?

A: We could not guarantee that 48v phantom power would pass properly through this type of adapter if being used with a balanced 3.5mm jack with phantom power output.

[1.71 lb] Have you ever wondered whether the cable or the device (or setting) was causing a fault? With this tester in your bag, you can quickly verify the cable connectivity.

It's remarkably well built - steel case and easy to use.

[1.71 lb] A very useful gadget for testing cables, especially for folks in the studio or live sound fields. It's built very solidly and should take a lot of abuse, although this does make it a bit on the heavy side. My only complaint is that it will only test USB cables with Type A and B connectors. No micro, mini, or USB-C, at least not without adapters.

[1.4 lb (0.6 kg)] I got this tester when I decided to do some of my own custom wiring for a portable live sound rack, mainly for the XLR. This tester is solid, the switch knob is solid and provides a nice click. I didn't even need to read the instructions. So I would recommend, especially for the price, I think it was well worth it.

[1.71 lb] If I'd known that I could have bought the Kopul for the same price as the (fiarly good) copy that I originally purchased, I would have gone straight for the Kopul. It's well designed... It's well made... It works... and you can't beat the price. Pretty much the epitome of a no-brainer.
