Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this with the Tamron 90mm macro lens.

A: You can use the Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD Lens for Canon EF with the Canon MR-14EX II Macro Ring Lite with your Canon DSLR camera. Remember that the Tamron uses 62mm filter thread, so to adapt it to a lens with a 62mm filter thread size, you would need to purchase the 67mm adapter ring for the flash and then use a 62-67mm step-up ring to connect to that. See the two links shown below for the required adapter rings to connect it to your 62mm lens: http://bhpho.to/1frDLaa and http://bhpho.to/1lVIgRi

Q: 2. Is this light soft or do I need to add some type of modifier?

A: This light is neither soft or harsh, you will have to test it to see if its to your liking. We do sell diffusion material for it, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2OpYQ0k

Q: 3. I have a 58mm sized Canon EF 100mm macro (non-IS) lens. Do I need to buy an adapter to use this flash?

A: You can use the Sensei 58-67mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring (B&H # SESUR5867) in combination with the Canon 67 Macrolite Adapter (B&H # CAMLA67) for lenses with a 58mm thread.

Q: 4. Are there other ring adapters that I can use for other sized lenses than the macrolite adapter sizes? For example, a 62mm macro lens.

A: Yes there are. If you regard the Accessories tab on this flash's product link, under the header Other flash accessories you will see adapter ring options for 52mm, 58mm, 67mm, and 72mm. To adapt it to a lens with a 62mm filter thread size, you would need to purchase the 67mm adapter ring for the flash, and then use a 62-67mm step-up ring to connect to that. See the two links below for the required adapter rings to connect it to your 62mm lens:http://bhpho.to/1frDLaahttp://bhpho.to/1lVIgRi

Q: 5. 1) What is the range of flash duration for this product? I have an MR-14EX, and it doesn't always freeze motion. Any suggestions?2) This flash seems to fire milliseconds before the shutter opens, which can give some live subjects enough time to react--some can fly right out of frame before the shutter opens. Is there any way I can get around that?

A: The MR-14EX may not freeze motion all the time because it is intended for close up subjects, where there is not a lot of motion to begin with. To avoid the pre-flash, you could use manual mode. Keep in mind, however, that manual mode will not allow for TTL use of the flash. Another solution to this issue would be to use a ring light, such as the Digi-Slave L Ring 3200D, which will provide a continuous light source and potentially be able to deter the subjects from moving when the flash fires off: http://bhpho.to/1gdjkPn

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Canon EF-S 35 f/2.8 Macro IS STM lens?

A: Yes, but you will need two adapters to get it to mount onto the lens. You will also need to use the ES-27 lens hood that came with the lens hood as you will need to mount these adapters onto the hood's front threads. Item 1, any of the Canon Macrolite adapters, like this one: https://bhpho.to/34tA33y Item 2, a stepup ring from 49mm to the same size as the Macrolite adapter: https://bhpho.to/3yQInZe

Q: 7. Is there a mode to set the flash to auto-off after a period of non-use to save batteries?

A: The MR-14EX II can be set to auto-off using the Custom Functions feature C.Fn.01. Please refer to page 61 in the manual for step by step instructions: http://bit.ly/2caYHdW

Q: 8. Do I need an adapter for Canon Macro 60mm lens?

A: No, it fits directly on the 60mm without an adapter.

Q: 9. Is this flash compatible with the Canon SL3?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the canon SL3 camera.

Q: 10. Is the MR-14Xcompatible with the new Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens?

A: Yes this will be able to be used on the Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens.

[LTO-5] We use these tapes for archiving projects and we haven't had one fail on us yet! Very reliable

[20 to 50%] I use this to archvie 4K digital cinema data, using a tape library to back up a RAID. The tapes are expensive and the process is slow and cumbersome, but it is probably the most stable format for archiving digital data. If you are developing a new system, you'll probably want LTO-6, but if you're already on LTO-5, this product is just fine. Keep in mind that eventually you will need custom labels, so buy a bunch of them in advance.

[6.4 µm] I've purchased dozens of these and haven't had any issues to date. Works as expected & reliable. I'm using a mLogic mTape LTO-7 drive. The only minor quibble I have is that they don't come with any sort of label/sticker.
