Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it compatible with a Gitzo head?

A: Yes, mostly any tripod has a 3/8"mount stud for a head and mostly any head has a 3/8" female thread.

Q: 2. Will the manfrotto 410 Junior had fit this tripod?

A: Yes. I bought both of these items together.

Q: 3. What is the minimum height in the vertical position?

A: The Manfrotto 190go! Carbon Fiber M-Series Tripod has a minimum height of about 15 inches when you are not taking advantage of the 90 degree center column feature. Plus you would need to add the height of your tripod head to that 15 inches as well.

Q: 4. Can center column be removed and reversed so mounting head is hanging down -- near ground?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto 290 Xtra CF tripod's center column is reversible! :)

Q: 5. Is there a mid-level spreader that is compatible with this tripod?

A: The Manfrotto 536 Carbon Fiber Video Tripod is not designed to be used with spreaders.

Q: 6. This compatible with the 502 AH video head?

A: No not right out of the box. The 502 AH has a flat base and the 536 Carbon Tripod has a bowl mount @ either 100mm or 75mm with an adapter. So if you could adapt the 502 to a 100 or 75mm bowl base then you could theoretically use this tripod as long as there are no wierd obstructions or pieces oriented in incompatible places.

Q: 7. Is it made in Italy?

A: Yes, it's made in Italy.

Q: 8. 11 lbs limit has me concerned. My setup is a D300s with battery pack and Sigma 150-600 plus a 2lb gimball. That puts me at around 9 pounds, without any added weight I might apply by my hands on the camera. Is that too much load for this setup?

A: This tripod will work for you, but If you are planning to extend the legs fully most of the time , consider a model that can handle a heavier load.

Q: 9. Are these legs compatible with the manfrotto 556 leveling center column ?

A: Sorry, the 536 Carbon Fiber Video Tripod since it has a bowl top cannot accept the Manfrotto 556B Leveling Center Column. So that we may be of further assistance with your application, please email us provideo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com./a

Q: 10. Will the Manfrotto 804RC2 pan and tilt head fit this tripod?

A: Yes.

[4.4 lb] Nice, lightweight tripod! Legs seem to extend smoothly, even if they get a little dirty. Lightweight enough that hiking with it is no problem.

[Flip Lock] This is a good tripod for backcountry hunting when using a large spotting scope and as a rifle rest. Very stable and easy use in the dark or while wearing gloves. It is not super light but much lighter than my current AL tripod.

[3/8"-16 Male] I don't understand why this tripod had a negative review but I don't see any quality problem. It's as light as other Manfrotto carbon fiber legs and as sturdy as other Manfrotto products. I've been using Manfrotto since 1997, this tripod is as good as it gets. It looks like BH photo video is putting this item as a clearance, don't miss the opportunity to own a carbon fiber legs for a cheap price. It seems like the negative reviewer didn't know how to tighten the tension screw and blaming on Manfrotto for its quality. This is one fine tripod. I was thinking about getting Manfrotto BeFree but I thought it was just too light and too thin for heavy usage. This is a perfect tripod for almost any production work.

[Flip Lock] I have been very happy with my old but heavy aluminum Manfrottos, but wanted something lighter for bicycling and hiking with my spotting scope. I had purchased another brand of carbon fiber legs (slightly more expensive than these) and returned them immediately because the center tube was unstable when extended. This tripod is stable, and because it has an aluminum (not carbon fiber) center tube, it can be extended and securely tightened with the lock screw. The flip locks open and close easily, secure the legs without slippage, and the legs slide in and out very smoothly. I did not have the problem of the flip lock bolts being too long as mentioned by another reviewer. I put a Manfrotto 128rc qr head on it and am very pleased with the whole rig.

[3] Happy with the purchase, worth the price. I had a Manfrotto monopod with head, so I didn't wanted to spend for a head, so this was my best choice

[3] This is the carbon fiber version of my old tripod. I bought it to reduce the weight that I carry. The tripod works great, the head fit perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.
