A: Manufacturers rarely list battery run times. That is because the times vary widely depending on the use. The same battery might last an hour or four. I suggest getting the largest battery you can afford for your second battery. Depending then on your experience, you may be satisfied or find you need another.

A: That is pretty normal. After a while the batteries have to be charged more due to the use of the battery.

A: The BP827 was the original high capacity for the XA10. It was replaced by the BP828. I just put a fully charged BP828 on my XA10 and it showed 311 minutes of record time in the LCD. I like the BP820 batteries because they don t protrude from the battery cavity like the BP828. But for longest battery life, get the BP828 it works fine on the XA10. B & H has the Watson brand batteries that seem to get good reviews, but I've never tried them. Amazon has the Wasabi brand that I have tried and they seem to work very well and they are much cheaper than the Canon brand. I use the Wasabi brand for backups. Good Luck
