From Applied Microphone Technologies (AMT), the WS clarinet microphone is unique in design and function. The microphone mounts to the clarinet and features 2 cardioid microphone elements, each attached to flexible goosenecks. The elements are designed to be positioned at the bell and keys of the clarinet.

The dual miking technique results in a natural, authentic reproduction of the instruments mechanics as well as the sound produced from the bell. The elements feature cardioid polar patterns, which suppress residual noise and audio signal at the off-axis sections of the capsule. The microphone connects to a separate beltpack that provides the output stage and power. The WS clarinet microphone operates on 12-52 Volt phantom power.

The WS features dual cardioid microphone elements to capture signal from the bell and keys of the clarinet.

The dual capsules are mounted on goosenecks for flexible, easy microphone positioning.

An external beltpack is wired to the microphone and provides a standard XLR output as well as variable impedance level. The size of the beltpack is convenient for use in performances.

The cardioid polar patterns greatly reduce residual noise and feedback at the off-axis sections of the microphone capsule.

The mounting clasp provides a firm grip without damaging the finish of the instrument.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the transmitters have on/off switches to allow presenter to mute themselves?

A: The transmitters included with the Pyle Pro PDWM2958B 2-Person Wireless Combo Microphone System do not have mute controls.

Q: 2. Does it come in a case?

A: When I purchased this set, it came in a box with styrofome. No bag. Also, I don't consider this unit to be portable since the base unit isn't small, so I wouldn't expect a bag to come with it.

Q: 3. are speakers included?

A: No, they are not. You will need speakers and an amplifier for your conference microphone system to operate properly. I have had the microphones for over a year now, and they work very well.Jerry Robinson

Q: 4. Hi, I have a Sony HDR-PJ760 camcorder. Is this mic ECM-AW4 compatible with my camcorder? Thank You.

A: Yes, I use the ECM-AW4 with my Sony HDR-CX760 and it works great. Just use the mic input on the side of the camera.

Q: 5. Is the receiver output mic level or line level?

A: The Sony ECM-AW4 Bluetooth Wireless Microphone System would have line level output.

Q: 6. If I wanted to use 4 units with a multi channel recorder can I do that? do they have multiple channels?

A: We would not advise using 4 sets of these in one location.

Q: 7. XLR (or 1/4") out to USB, for use with Zoom? We're holding meetings that are up to 20 people, hybrid onsite/offsite using Zoom. We used a single omnidirectional mic that was abysmal, the participants at home could hear almost nothing. If I took the XLR out of this, adapted it to USB on the laptop, does anyone know if this would be recognized as a single mic input that would then be broadcast?

A: You can mix the XLR output of the Pyle Pro PDWM8300 VHF Wireless Conference Microphone System (B&H # PYPDWM8300) down through a USB sound card, which will be recognized as a single USB microphone input when connected to a computer.

Q: 8. This system has 16 bit audio instead of 24. Does this make a huge difference?

A: A higher bit depth will enable higher dynamic range. 16-bit audio has a dynamic range of 96 dB, and 24-bit audio has a range of 144 dB.

Q: 9. how long does the battery last?

A: I use Eneloop pro batteries and i have been working with them over 5 hours

Q: 10. we use a system called zoom room which is on a computer and users dial into the meeting. will this work with that?

A: It will work with any system that has a 1/4th mono microphone input.

[Figure-8] I have used this microphone as my go to piano mic for years. I bought this one as a spare. Less expensive than most of the competition and sounds just as good or better.

[12 to 52 V] This is an outstanding microphone for micing a closed lid on a grand piano. While we don't need a microphone to enhance the sound in the church sanctuary it is needed to supply sound to monitors and the streaming signal. We have been using the M40 for several years and when the old one failed we immediately purchase a new one.

[Figure-8] Great quality sound, easy setup and use. Doesn't get in the way. Easy to move between my tenor and alto without any wires hanging anywhere. Compared the sound to DPA 4099, which I thought lacked a little bit of the body of the tenor sax sound. Returned that and kept the AMT. seems like this is the best. Full wireless and no body pack is great, but you do have the transmitter on your bell which some may not like the look of. It's light though, so you don't fee it or notice.
