The VS Violin, Viola, and Mandolin Microphone from AMT Q7-VS Wireless Microphone System True Diversityis a miniature cardioid, condenser microphone designed for use with violin, viola and mandolin. The entire microphone and mounting mechanism is designed to clamp securely to the body of the instrument without damage to its finish.

The element itself is attached to a flexible gooseneck, allowing easy positioning at the sound board. The cardioid polar pattern effectively minimizes off-axis audio that causes noise and feedback. An external beltpack provides the output stage and power supply for the microphone. The beltpack also provides variable impedance for line level output and standard a XLR output connector. The VS is powered with external 11-52VDC phantom power or 9-volt battery.

An external beltpack provides 11-52V phantom power via external sources or houses a 9-Volt battery. The pack features a standard XLR output connection and can be worn during performances.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing noise and residual audio at the off-axis sections of the capsule.

The element is mounted in an integrated shock mount that suppresses handling and surface noise.

The beltpack / output stage features a level control that adjusts of line level output if necessary.

Q: 10. How does this flash compare to the Yongnuo YN-568EX Speedlite for Nikon Cameras?

A: The Yongnuo YN-568EX Speedlite for Nikon Cameras would be the stronger of the two flashes in terms of output power. It also has a wider manual output range from 1/1 full-power down to 1/128th output power (the Bolt VS-560N Wireless TTL Flash for Nikon goes down to 1/64th minimum output power). When using i-TTL automatic flash output, the Yongnuo flash has a wider -5 EV to +5 EV flash compensation range (in 1/3 EV steps), compared to Bolt's -3 EV to +3 EV flash compensation range (in 1/3 EV steps). The Yongnuo flash has a 2.5mm sub-miniphone sync terminal, while the Bolt uses the standard PC sync terminal. The Yongnuo flash has an estimated 3 second recycle time when using full batteries, while the Bolts flash recycle time can be up to approximately 9 seconds. The Bolt flash would be both smaller and lighter compared to the larger, heavier Yongnuo flash.

[Phantom Power] This is an outstanding microphone for micing a closed lid on a grand piano. While we don't need a microphone to enhance the sound in the church sanctuary it is needed to supply sound to monitors and the streaming signal. We have been using the M40 for several years and when the old one failed we immediately purchase a new one.

[Solid-State] I have used this microphone as my go to piano mic for years. I bought this one as a spare. Less expensive than most of the competition and sounds just as good or better.

[Solid-State] Mobile DJ since 2001. Previous owner of Shure and Sennheiser systems.

Have used Audix R61 receivers weekly (mostly at weddings) since early 2017, they are rock solid units! TRUE DIVERSITY (dual tuners) indeed! Have not had a SINGLE signal drop out indoors or outdoors, (64MHz frequency band is awesome) even in the super busy RF environment of Southern California. We typically use 2-3 units at the same time. The range is outstanding also, we are often about 100 ft away (advertises a huge 450 ft range, haven't had to do that..) and with up to 200 guests between receiver and bodypacks, still no issues.

Very easy setup, and has great features like locking the transmitter so no accidental 'mutes' occur. R61 has a massive amount of tunable frequencies if you need them. The construction is metal and quite solid. Shure and Sennheiser rule the mobile DJ world of wireless, but after speaking with Audix at NAMM 2017, I went with their system and have not looked back. I have since had two other colleagues see/hear the system, and although they were lifetime Shure users, bought an Audix 60 series system. The few reviews you will find rave about them as well. I think it is the current sleeper system that doesn't get a lot of attention, but performs extremely well. Highly recommend.

The only downside is the R61 receivers, and the 60 series in general, are of course more expensive than the '40' series, and not typically in stock...anywhere. It takes a few extra days to get to you but it is worth the wait to ensure perfect events, especially wedding ceremonies, with rock solid signal thanks to the true diversity dual tuners.

[11 to 52 V] I use this microphone for live performance of clarinet + live electronics. Finally I am able to be mobile and compact on the stage, not using two separate microphones (with so many holes sound source is practically everywhere in this kind of instrument). I hope this solution will also help to avoid feedback problems. Sound quality is great, but I am not expecting it to be 100% natural, since the lower microphone is pointing almost directly to the bell, getting very rich of low freqs sound. I think it will be best to combine it with wireless solution.

[11 to 52 V] Had originally paired a Sennheiser lapel body pack and handheld microphone to save expense. Then there was a need for these mics to be used simultaneously so needed to find an additional receiver and B&H worked with me in identifying one. It works well as a Sennheiser is expected to. Thank you B&H for the help your Sales stafferdid in finding the right equipment. The new receiver works great with the older microphone. It works as one expects a Sennheiser to work. Other wholesalers were not helpful but B&H was very helpful. Thanks, a Very satisfied customer.
