Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the c300 markiii?

A: Yes, the C300 III uses a 4-pin Lemo for power.

Q: 2. Will this work with the BMPCC 6K Pro?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 3. The cable is listed as being "Coiled 24 to 36" Camera Power Cable", however in the photo it is not coiled and does not appear to be very long. Can you verify that the maximum length of the cable is 36" and whether it is coiled or not?

A: The IndiPRO Tools Dual NP-F Power System with 15mm Rod Mount cable is coiled despite the images on our site.

Q: 4. Is the D-tap the only port?

A: Yes, this has just a single D-Tap. Keep in mind that the battery you use on the plate will usually have at least 1 D-Tap of its own along and maybe even a USB output.

Q: 5. Do the XLR connectors just transfer the signal, or is there a pre-amp before getting sent off to the camera?

A: That is a good question, one that I am not completely sure of. I have used both a shotgun mic (which required phantom power) and lavaliere mics with this rig. The phantom power is drawn off the L batteries on the harness. Both mics worked incredibly well in terms of quality of audio recording once the BMPCC was able to monitor audio levels. Before they made that upgrade it was a bit of a guessing game. If I had to guess, I would say that it is just transferring the signal, although with the price I paid for this thing it should come with an internal amp and a back massage. Might need to contact the manufacturer on this one.

Q: 6. Is this product made of metal?

A: The rail mounting clamp and bolt are metal. The battery and microphone input block is plastic (except for electrical connections and a few small pieces on the xlr inputs. The plastic has so far held up fine -- without receiving 'kid glove' treatment. Biggest issue is that there is nothing that locks batteries in place, and the shape makes rigging a solution a bit of a chore. As a cord-cutter, we've ran a BMPCC for a good eight hour day with almost no off-time, and plenty of checking takes - and could have gone hours more. Keep an eye on camera temp during extended 'camera on' shoots - especially if shooting time lapse in RAW format - parts of the camera can get too hot to touch and suffer damage. This not an 'approved' Blackmagic device, so may lack some form of power management on a camera that has no self-cooling system. Note the xlr inputs are just converters (not a preamp and offer no phantom power). Otherwise, a good, budget solution with a touch of DIY to keep batteries on the unit. For pro use, there are better and, naturally, more expensive choices. That said, ours is still in the field...

Q: 7. Will this setup give the "Battery Not Supported" issue when used with a Sony a9?

A: This is designed to work with the Sony A9 camera. It should not give you such an issue.

Q: 8. Does this accessory work with the SONY A7S III ?

A: Yes, you are able to use this with the A7S III.

Q: 9. does it include the batteries?

A: No this unit does not include batteries. All batteries are sold separately.

Q: 10. Will this fit the Sony A7S3?

A: Yes, the A7SIII uses the NP-FZ100 battery system. This will work with an A7SIII.

[12 to 16 VDC ] I own 4 of these and use them on literally every production we do. They power my a7sII, FS5 mkII, LED panels, heck even our Aperture C300d. I've even used them while traveling to charge my devices (iPad, iPhone, etc) with the D-Tap to USB adapter

[19 mm Rod Mount] I got this kit like a year ago and still going strong,  The charger is compact and lightweight and charges both batteries simultaneously, Very happy with this purchase.

[12 to 16 VDC ] We often have a mobile camera on our productions and having to mount our gold mount batteries with zip ties wasn't the ideal scenario, especially if we had to change mid-show. This mounted to our rig easily and makes it easy to swap out and doesn't offset the balance. The flexibility of mounting options also helps us both access other screws on the rig if needed and doesn't lock us into a specific orientation.

Add a power adapter or two for your devices (which we did), and this little piece of engineering becomes one of your new best friends. Sometimes simple really is best.

[Gold Mount] I use a PD-95S battery to power an EVA-1 and a PIX-E5H simultaneously. So far it has been very reliable, and powers both devices for hours.

[12 to 16 VDC ] I have only charged this up twice and tested it once.  It is my first V-Mount battery + charger, so I might not have enough background to compare it to other batteries/chargers.
I got this for my Rotolight Aeos kit and it was far less expensive than the Rotolight option.  There was also a sale with an additional $100 off so this option all in was almost 2/3 less $ than same setup from Rotolight.
I love that the charger charged both batteries in 2 hours, and that both charge at the same time.  I dont know how depleted they were when shipped but I did like the speed of the charger.
The batteries are a bit heavy on the Aeos lights, but all in all about the same as other options.
Running continuous light for about 2 hours and about 300 flashes off of one charge and the batteries only went down about 40%.  This makes me think a fairly full day of shooting would be possible from one charge.
So far, so good!  I might update this as I get more experience with this system.

[19 mm Rod Mount] I've been using this charger for a while now. It works great and charges all the IndiPRO Tools V-Mount I own. I would recommend this charger and battery to anyone looking shopping for a charger.

[0.79 lb] I have 4 gold mount batteries plus the dual rapid charger from IndiPRO and absolutely love them. After nearly 3 years, the performance hasn't dropped off and they still hold a charge very well. I use them with IndiPRO's battery plates to power all our Sony a7 series cameras on set since the native battery life of those cameras is a well documented problem. With one gold mount battery I can run an a7s mkII shooting 4K for nearly 2 full days! Definitely beats the days of swapping batteries everytime you cut at the 29:59 min mark. In terms of the charger, it definitely charges the batteries extremely quickly, much better than the travel charger they offer.
