The PT1200 12" Portable Teleprompter Kitcombines a portable design with a large viewing size, and it's built very durable with aluminum and steel components, including an aluminum monitor frame. The monitor is 12" diagonally and the scientific-grade prompter glass matches in size, providing a 20 ft reading range. The whole system consists of only three main components—the monitor, set of two 15mm rods, and quick-release baseplate—and assembles in about a minute. The glass frame folds right onto the monitor, allowing for easy transport, and in the same manner is adjustable up and down into the best viewing position for the presenter. A zippered hood with a fabric lens cover is included that secures firmly to the monitor frame. The quick release baseplate is height-adjustable to accommodate various cameras from small to mid-size.

The monitor features control buttons right on the front and provides easy access to its inputs (HDMI, VGA, Composite BNC). The monitor powers from the included AC power supply, and you can use an optional battery and cable to power the monitor in the field. Prompting software (Mac/Win) is included, and everything comes shipped in compartmentalized, reusable foam that's designed to fit into the optional SKB iSeries 1914-8 waterproof carry case.

The monitor accepts 12 to 24 VDC and powers from the included AC adapter, or you can use an optional battery and cable with 2.1mm locking connector to power the monitor in the field. See accessories for recommended D-Tap power cables.

Q: 1. If I use a dual VGA splitter coming out of a PC, can I duplicate the text simultaneously on two separate cameras?

A: According to ikan you should be able to do what you wish.

Q: 2. What tripods is this compatible with?

A: Any tripod that will hold a 10.5 lb. + camera, accessories etc. Preferably with a bit of wiggle-room on the maximum payload value

Q: 4. Can you mount this prompter on a light stand?

A: I would highly recommend against using this Teleprompter on just a light stand. It weighs 10 pounds and its shape will make it difficult to remain stable. A tripod like B&H #DAPVT7518B from Davis & Sanford would be a far more suitable option.

Q: 5. If I want to use it outside, where I have no AC-Power. Is there any option to run it by a battery?

A: While Ikan does not make a cable that allows this Teleprompter to be powered by more traditional Video Production batteries, we do have some options for battery packs with an AC power connection that you could look into. The GOAL ZERO Yeti 150 Solar Generator Power Pack would be a good place to start.

A: The software comes on a CD.

Q: 7. Will this prompter work well with a Canon C100? It looks about the right size.

A: Yes, thats what Camera I use.Its a nice prompter.

Q: 8. Does this come with a power supply? I don't see it being listed in the description.

A: An AC power supply is included with this unit.

Q: 9. What is the brightness of this monitor? How many nits?

A: The brightness, according to ikan's website, is 350 cd/m2.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Black Magic Ursa Major?

A: Jeff, I don't have that exact model for us to test in-house, but I doubt it. The Ursa Major is quite large, so I doubt it would work well with this teleprompter.

[4:3] I love it when people say they are great on camera and don't need to see the script! LOL Teleprompters save so much time when recording video now and editing time later. This is small enough to take it anywhere you go. 5

[500:1] A great unit for on the road social media production, i totally recommend it, however I wish if the Manufacturer of this device can come up with multiple back bracket that can accommodate different type of mobile hone models. I had to make a new hole to make it fit my iphone 13 & 14 pro max 5

[Yes] If you are looking for a simple and affordable teleprompter here she is... no experience using on again here she is.... have used a couple of different teleprompters this is by far the easiest to assemble and use. Great for folks who are not used to reading from a teleprompter as the camera is right behind it so eye contact and movement are less of an issue. Use at a company for the president to record Qtr updates for Employees. 5
