The white Sanken COS-11D Lavalier Mic with TA4F Connectoris a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a TA4F connector and is wired for use with Trantec transmitters. Accessories are available separately and are not included with this configuration of the microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this mic compatible to be used with a Denecke PS power supply? I'm having a problem, cause I just hear a loud hum noise and no transmitter signal. I tried it with other mics and transmitters, and I hear the same loud hum noise.

A: Yes, the Sanken CS-M1 can be used with the Denecke PS-1A or PS-2 which are both compatible 48V phantom power supplies. The Denecke PS-T is not compatible for use with the CS-M1 because it is a 12V "T-power" supply intended for use with older microphones that require lower voltage and the CS-M1 requires 48V phantom power.

Q: 2. Is this the latest version with ground protection?

A: Yes it is. This is the latest version of the Lentequip SafeTap Connector and it features Ground Protection.

Q: 3. What is the lowest profile / minimal shoe mount that will work with this mic? I want to attach it to the FX3 for Vlog'ing and want something small.

A: A mount such as BH #ROSM3R Rode SM3-R Camera Shoe Shockmount is a quality option that marries the desired characteristics of low profile, built-in shoe adapter, and shock absorption for use with the Sanken CS-M1 Moisture-Resistant Ultracompact Shotgun Microphone: https://bhpho.to/3K2vXlW

Q: 4. Does this has extreme wether proof design and RF rejection like NTG3 and Senn MKH416?

A: The Sanken is fairly robust in adverse weather, but it is not weather-proofed. Its directionality is comparable depending on the environment.

Q: 5. Hi, I just ordered this mic a couple weeks ago. So far it has not shown to turn on or record any audio, nor did I receive an instruction manual with it. I have plugged it into my canon 5d mark III and also a Zoom H5 recorder, and both have giving me no sound from the mic and some plug in noise. No levels are shown to record. I have not been able to find any troubleshooting pieces on line. Can you help me?

A: This microphone requires power you need to send it 48V

Q: 6. Would I need this for a Rode NTG-3 to put on a Canon XA-35?

A: Spacers such as the Sanken O-Rings will be required for the NTG-3 and most similar shotgun mics when mounting to a cameras built in mount such as the Canon XA35. These mounts are designed oversized to accommodate a wide variety of mics and mic types.

Q: 7. SmallRig battery

A: The Lentequip SafeTap Connector will work with any Battery brand that has a D-TAP/P-TAP connector on the battery. Assembly info: https://bit.ly/47J2JDP

Q: 8. I'm very fond of Sanken mics personally. Thus I wanted to ask how is the reach on this mic. Is there anything you guys could tell in that regards? I know it's not a shotgun mic, however it's Super Card.

A: It very similar to most of other shotgun mics (and it's a shotgun mic). Not as directional as Sennheiser 416, so I wouldn't recommend if you need to capture sounds outdoors very far away.

Q: 9. Will this work with the rode ntg2 and the canon c100 markII?

A: Yes, the Sanken rubber O-rings will work with the Canon C100 MKII to secure the Rode NTG2.

Q: 10. Will these fit a RDE NTG-3?

A: The Sanken O-Rings will fit a Rode NTG-3 and mics with a similar diameter 19-22mm.

[3 to 10 V] I have yet to find a better all-purpose lag for interviews. Not much else to say, worth the money.

[Plug-In Power] Clear, crisp sound. Works perfect with our Sennheiser Evo Wireless. The amount of ambient noise this mic rejects is unbelievable. May seem pricey, but it's extremely well worth it!

[White] I had to return Rode Wireless Filmmaker Kit due to a mediocre SQ and was going through Sound Bible over and over again in search of an answer... I think I found it! Won't compare this two, but rather simply state that it cannot be better, I'm very satisfied with what this mic has to offer, and I'm willing to deal with cable until I find wireless system producing same results... Top notch craftsmanship and performance. VERY sensitive and requires only 9 o'clock gain on my SD MixPre-D for a strong clean signal. Love it!
