The white Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone TA4F Connectoris a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.
Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.
The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent even when the subject turns away from the mic.
A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a TA4F connector and is wired for use with Trantec transmitters. Accessories are available separately and are not included with this configuration of the microphone.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Which frequency would be best for Hawaii (specifically the North Shore of Oahu)? I see some frequencies aren't allowed in Hawaii? Maybe? A specific frequency would be appreciated.
A: There is no one frequency that is best to use all of the time. Any of the bands offered will work throughout Hawaii. The reason there are three bands is so that you can use many systems in the same space and at the same time. The receiver will scan for the best available frequency within that band to use at that time. You can use up to around 8 systems in the same band, in the same space and at the same time, before you would need to worry about switching bands for your next group of systems, to avoid interference with your first group of system.
Q: 2. Would this lavalier mic work in europe? italy?
A: The wireless systems that are sold by B&H are intended for use in North America without a license. The FCC regulations vary in different countries, so a license may be required. The A1: 470 to 516 MHz, A: 516 to 558 MHz, and G: 566 to 608 MHz frequency bands for the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System are all able to be used in Italy, however, a license is required. As additional options for a Sennheiser wireless system that you can use in Italy without a license, you may want to consider the Sennheiser AVX-ME2 SET Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H #SEAVXME2SET4) or the Sennheiser XSW-D LAVALIER SET Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H # SEWXSLSTR). The AVX system operates on the 1.9 GHz frequency band and includes a plug-in receiver which can be connected to a 3.5mm mic input using the included XLR to 3.5mm cable. The XSW-D system operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band and can also be used with an XLR female to 3.5mm cable to connect to a 3.5mm mic input. Both systems include the Sennheiser ME 2 II Lavalier Microphone, which is the same microphone that is included with the EW 112P G4 system.
Q: 3. Is this mic compatible to be used with a Denecke PS power supply? I'm having a problem, cause I just hear a loud hum noise and no transmitter signal. I tried it with other mics and transmitters, and I hear the same loud hum noise.
A: Yes, the Sanken CS-M1 can be used with the Denecke PS-1A or PS-2 which are both compatible 48V phantom power supplies. The Denecke PS-T is not compatible for use with the CS-M1 because it is a 12V "T-power" supply intended for use with older microphones that require lower voltage and the CS-M1 requires 48V phantom power.
Q: 4. What is the correct frequency version for Chicago IL?
A: Both frequency ranges offered for the Sennheiser EW 512P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System appear to have available channels for the Chicago, Illinois area, however there may be slightly more available on the GW1: 558-608MHz range.
Q: 5. If I buy the model with the 3.5 connector for my camera can I use a 3.5 to Lightning adapter to also use it with my iPhone 8 or a 3.5 to USB-C adapter to connect it to my MacBook?
A: Yes, you can use the Saramonic LC-C35 for Lightning to you iPhone and the UTC-C35 for USB-C to your MacBook, BUT FYI, you can also just plug in the included TRRS cable into the headphone port on your MacBook too. We hope you enjoy it!
Q: 6. Can you add additional wireless transmitter mics to the camera mounted receiver ? If so what models are compatible ?
A: Each wireless transmitter needs it's own corresponding receiver, so in order to add an additional mic using the Sennhieser G4 series, you would need an entire additional system.
Q: 7. Does this has extreme wether proof design and RF rejection like NTG3 and Senn MKH416?
A: The Sanken is fairly robust in adverse weather, but it is not weather-proofed. Its directionality is comparable depending on the environment.
Q: 8. Can I simply attach this to a shoe mount on the FX3 and use it?
A: Yes. The CS-M1 will work with the FX3
Q: 9. How does this interface with a Smartphone?
A: There is an included TRRS output cable that you could connect to the headphone jack ( or headphone jack adapter) of your smartphone. This would allow for recording into the phone.
Q: 10. Is the 538 to 586 Mhz band legal in the US, and does it require a license?
A: The 538 to 586 MHz used by the Polsen UWM-2 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is legal for unlicensed use in the United States and North America.
