Combining their proprietary High Transmission (HT) optical system with large objectives in their 8x54 Victory HT Binoculars, ZEISS delivers an optic with outstanding performance, especially in low-light conditions. The HT system enables better than 95% light transmission from the objectives to the user's eyes by employing extra-low dispersion SCHOTT fluoride (FL) glass elements multi-coated with ZEISS' T* coatings to maximize light transmission through the entire optical path. An Abbe-Koenig prism design complements the FL glass and T* coatings, resulting in an image that is exceptionally bright and rich with contrast, clarity, and detail from dawn to dusk. The relatively low magnification and large objectives produce an exceptionally wide 6.7mm exit pupil that ensures full coverage when the pupils are fully dilated in low light.

Their magnesium-alloy housing reduces the overall weight without sacrificing strength and durability, and the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance in all weather conditions. The innovative Dual-Link bridge construction allows the bridge to be very small without sacrificing strength or stability, and the unique elongated prism configuration enables the optical tubes to be thinner than normal. These two features work together to give the binoculars a large and comfortable gripping surface and a wide interpupillary adjustment range. Because of the size of the objectives and the length of the optical tubes, hand holding these binoculars may cause fatigue, so ZEISS made them tripod mountable with an optional adapter for long-duration glassing sessions. Add in the ergonomic non-slip rubber armoring and focus wheel, and the Victory HT becomes a full-featured optic ready for all seasons.

[54 mm] Optically superb. I have the 8x25, wish the eye cups would come out about another mm (when all the way out), no big deal I automatically position my hands for perfect eye placement. I think Zeiss has done very well here with the firmness of the hinge, on older generations I feel they were weak here. The whole binocular seems very sturdy. Precision all they way around on this binocular. Cons: the binocular has a smell to them, its letting up some after 2 weeks now, hopefully the smell will continue to weaken.

[8x] Excellent optics, as would be expected. For me, the ultra light weight & very small size ( i.e. extreme portability) are it's best features. Not the greatest light-gatherer in low light conditions, but the small size & weight more than make up for that. A pleasure to hold, & you can keep them at eye level forever without getting tired!

[16 mm] One of the features I like about these binos is the locking mechanism of the eyepieces. Locks in place when they are deployed and locks when retracted. Image radiant and consistent w my Zeiss 10x32 Victory FL and Leica 8x42 Ultras. Returning from Amazon River Basin in 2018 expedition I grew to appreciate compact and pocket binos. My highest priority now is to find appropriate caps and a proper strap that won't break as I jump in/out of skiffs on the Amazon. Or, just carry them in my Lowepro Dashpoint 20 camera pouch on my tactical belt. It will be fun.

[6.7 mm] These Binoculars are an excellent piece of equipment, especially for the price. They are clear, bright, and exceptionally lightweight. I don't think you can find a better pair of lightweight binoculars anywhere. We purchased both these and the Zeiss 8x25 Terra ED Compact Binoculars. Both are wonderful, but the Victory Pocket Binoculars are a bit better.

[Center] Started looking for compact binoculars after a trip to California last month that had me hiking around Point Lobos State Park and wishing I had magnification at every twist and turn. My main binocs are a great 30 y.o. pair of Leica 8x32 Trinovids that weigh about 26 ounces, and I had decided not to pack them this time.

When I got back I started the endless research loop, reading up on seemingly every popular alternative, from the Wirecutter's favorite $130 Pentax bins to the Zeiss Terra TLs Amazon was/is selling for $200 and up. I had almost settled on the Leica Trinovid 10x25s when B&H advisors suggested I stick with 8x, to keep the image steadier, and recommended these, the Zeiss Victory Pockets as the best available.

I still dithered, and ultimately ordered both these (from B&H) and Leica Ultravid 8x20s from another retailer. Tried them both for several days and it was, in the end, no contest. I wear glasses and I could not get the Leica's to work for me easily--I would eventually get both scopes showing an image and merge them into one, but it took a fiddling. And the Leicas were clearly less bright, and stiffer to focus. The Zeiss, by contrast, showed the benefit of a larger exit pupil, more eye relief, and a larger objective. They're dead easy to use, work for evening walks to our local duck pond, and are marginally easier to hold steadier than the admirably tiny and light Leicas. They cost a bomb and I still can't believe I actually ponied up that much cash, but I plan to leave them to my son so they'll amortize well, and in the meantime they are exactly what I wanted: good glass that I can have with me just about al the time.

[-3 to +3] The image quality, especially in dim light environments, is stunning. I find myself wanting to look at things through these.

[6.7 mm] first off, I am an optically neophyte, so keep that in mind. Also, I have benefitted greatly from other's reviews, so I wanted to share my thoughts as it takes some time to decide to spend at this level.

I only have experience with a pair of Nikon prostaff 7s 8 X42 and a pair of Zeiss Terra ED 8X25 to compare. I thought that binos would just magnify things and make them look closed, like other's have said the initial WOW is the sharpness and pop of colors and the depth of contrast and detail. So really amazed at they every time I use them.

First, accessories, often mentioned. I purchased the strap that is listed in the accessories section. There is no issue with the supplied strap, I guess the benefit of the other is to select a color so you can recognize your binoculars.
Rain guards and covers, the barrel outside diameter is 34 mm and once you have that info, there are adequate products available for either end on line. The case, I also have the Lowepro Dashpoint 20 and 30. The 20, you need to collapse everything and there is not much room for the accessories. The 30 , you can keep the eyecups extended and the barrels open to your preference and have room for the accessories. I can see a use for either.

The single hinge made me say ok, this is fine when I first used it. Once I picked up the Terra EDs, I really saw the difference. The 2 hinge model was like working a wet noodle in comparison.

These are comfortable to hold and to focus quickly and keep a focus. I cannot tell if I have them around my neck , they are unobtrusive.

Feel in hand is good, they are compact and I have larger hands. The rubber is not textured like the NIkon, but I do not feel they would slip.

very pleased with my purchase

[4.15 lb] The quality of these Bino's are fantastic, they simply far out perform others I have used in the past. Zeiss quality is unmatched in my option. Clarity of the glass is exceptional.

[8x] These are just gorgeous binoculars! The image is bright, and they feel good in the hand and are easy to adjust and focus. I was worried by a note in another review that the asymmetrical design might be less good for someone with small hands. My hands are on the small side for an adult woman, but I can reach the focus wheel with my right index finger, no problem.

[54 mm] These are lightweight binnoculars with great optics. The binnocular strap end was frayed when received binoculars but the strap is still functional.
