Q: 1. could I spew my rode video mic pro that has a 3/8 thread or do I need an adapter?

A: In the closed position, this unit measures approximately 9

Q: 5. Would this work for my Rode video mic pro to set on a stage with an extension cable to my camera?

A: I agree it would work. I have mounted a Nikon d7000 with 18-105mm lens on it and had no problems. Given the weight and size of the Rode video mic there should be no problem mounting it to this tripod.

Q: 6. Will the head screw into an RRS L-bracket? (D610, xt1, or xt10)

A: It fits into my d600 with no problem. I currently use it on a Manfrotto quick release plate on a D600 with 16-35 vr lense.

Q: 7. Is it possible with legs extended to use a shoulder support when panning a F1 car through a sequence of shots. Would the two legs rest on shoulders and other rest on your chest as a support.?

A: If one was using the Manfrotto PIXI EVO Mini Tripod, the way you describe, it would be a good idea to figure out how to secure that set up, otherwise the camera could easily fall.

Q: 8. Is this evo 2 or old one?

A: This is the new Evo 2.

Q: 9. Can you use it as a selfie stick?

A: You could. It isn't too heavy in my opinion. Selfie sticks I have seen are quite a bit longer, but with the legs extended, it would probably suffice. Realize it wasn't designed for that and likely will not work as well as a tool made for that purpose.

Q: 10. What are the differences between black and red models that make black more expensive?

A: Its the same tripod , just the color difference

[+35° to -35°] I've purchased both the Manfrotto Pixi Evo tripod and the smaller Pixi Smart Mini from B&H. Both are very well-made, sturdy little tripods, but I prefer the Evo.

The Mini's height is a fixed 5 inches, but the Evo's legs are extendible, and can be operated in two modes, wide and narrow, giving the tripod a height varying from 4 to almost 8 inches. At every height, the Evo's feet cover a bit more area than the Mini, so that the Evo provides more stability. The Evo will also support more than twice as much weight (5.5 lb) as will the Mini (2.2 lb).

For use only with a cell phone, the Mini is probably more than adequate, but to support a more substantial compact camera, the Evo will prove more flexible. In fact, the only great advantage of the Mini is that in comes with a smartphone clamp. If you opt for the Evo instead, you might consider buying the Xuma Smartphone Mount as well.

[+35° to -35°] I use this with my pinhole cameras to get low to the ground. They work great and are highly adjustable and not too heavy.

[Aluminum] Very sturdy small portable support. Ok not very high but one can sometimes find something higher to set it on. Of course great for flowers.
