A: According to the manufacture the color of the laser does not make any difference.There is no specific power for the laser Miops recommends. It depends on the situation. If you are outside and it is bright you most likely need a stronger one than one that is used inside.I have seen it used with a low end one from a stationary store. Again it all depends on distance and the light outside.

Once set on the awake mode, the camera will trigger much faster but will also use up more battery power. These seem to contradict each other. I would like to not have to wake up the camera to shoot. Does this cable do that or not?

A: If you use the cable with a MultiMAX or Plus III, it can pre trigger the remote. The camera may go to sleep, depending on what equipment you are using. If you add a PTMM, it will constantly keep the camera pre triggered and the camera will never sleep.
