Q: 6. Does this allow audio recording during VFR mode?

A: Sorry, audio recording is disabled when shooting at variable frame rates. If audio actually was recorded, it would be so slow as to be unusable. The audio you hear in films during slow motion sequences is created. I can say from many slo-mo shots I have participated on the sound generated in real time is not very interesting. However, you can then take that sound and create meaningful effects in your editing.

Q: 7. How does this connect/mount to the ground unit? They should have photographed the back of the unit.

A: The ground unit will have the proper connections to attach this plate. It will be close the power connection as this has the proper barrel plug for the unit.

Q: 8. So this actually receives an audio signal through the hot shoe? I don't need to plug a 1/8 cable into the camera like other mic adapters I use with the GH4?

A: You are correct.

Q: 9. I dont have room to put this device on the top of the camera, is there a cable to extend the hot shoe port to this device?

A: There is no accessory for moving the Panasonic DMW-XLR2 XLR Microphone Adapter off a camera.

Q: 10. Does anyone know if this will work with the lumix G9? If not, is there a similar one that will work with the G9?

A: Unfortunately, this product is not compatible with the Panasonic G9 and there is no similar option that may work.

The Hedbox RP-DC50 dual charger is expensive but wonderfully versatile. It uses easily swapped charge plates to charge different camera batteries. You can even charge batteries for two different camera systems at the same time. It also accurately reports battery charge levels, unlike most chargers that claim to do so. I bought these to charge the batteries for a Pentax DLSR camera and they work perfectly, as do the other Hedbox charger plates I have used. 5

I wish I had purchased this sooner. No more need for a bajillion, yes, a bajillion, AA batteries. I now have one battery for the Litepanel and one battery for my camera-- I only have to charge them at night and then I am ready to roll the entire next day. 5

Using an on-camera Litepanels light without a camera battery adapter plate is just a waste of AA batteries and your precious time in my opinion. The adapter fits easily on the litepanel and reduces bulk and worry. Camera batteries last so much longer and gives me one less thing to have to carry around. 5

Works perfectly. Upgraded to Blackmagic from my panasonic a100. It's stopped reading my tapes so I decided to upgrade instead of fixing. My batteries are still good so this was a no brainer. 5

Trying to make sure I have enough AA Batteries to run this light was a pain. If it started to fade, then the light was done for the evening for me. However, with this adapter plate, I've been able to just pop in another rechargable battery that I'm already using with my cameras. It is convient, painless, and leaves me worry free. 5

This is a great option to AA batteries. Much easier to swap out batteries using this plate than using AA batteries. Use the AA batteries for emergency power. 5
