A: The only shutter release cable that would work in portrait mode with this L Bracket would be ones with a 90 degree plug. Any straight plugs will not fit. The alternative would be to use the app and make it wireless.

[0.2 lb] Trying to make sure I have enough AA Batteries to run this light was a pain. If it started to fade, then the light was done for the evening for me. However, with this adapter plate, I've been able to just pop in another rechargable battery that I'm already using with my cameras. It is convient, painless, and leaves me worry free. 5

[0.2 lb] Using an on-camera Litepanels light without a camera battery adapter plate is just a waste of AA batteries and your precious time in my opinion. The adapter fits easily on the litepanel and reduces bulk and worry. Camera batteries last so much longer and gives me one less thing to have to carry around. 5

[0.2 lb] I wish I had purchased this sooner. No more need for a bajillion, yes, a bajillion, AA batteries. I now have one battery for the Litepanel and one battery for my camera-- I only have to charge them at night and then I am ready to roll the entire next day. 5
