Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Wolverine Titan capture sound when scanning Super 8 film with a sound strip?

A: No, this would not capture the sound (audio) from the film.

Q: 2. Are there actually different sizes of optics in the variations offered (55, 62, 72, 77mm) or is it just different housings?

A: Yes, there are different size optics in each of the variations of the Opteka 10x High Definition II Professional Macro Conversion Lenses.

Q: 3. will this reach 70' while stationary?

A: When utilizing this lens' 2x extender it has a 42x zoom ratio. You'll be able to shoot a subject from 70 feet away with that kind focal range.

Q: 4. Does it have a dust/spec removal feature?

A: The machine itself does allow for basic changes such as colour and contrast. The reason I highly recommend this product is its ability to quickly digitise and its screen size. I correct later through photoshop.

Q: 5. Is this a scanner or simply a digital camera that takes a picture of a picture?

A: It takes pictures and then uploads them to your computer via USB. Quality is good and adjustable altho we use PS for enhancement. It's way faster than our HP G4020- 16. As fast as you can feed'em ya scan'em! We love it for the price. No complaints from customers yet!!

Q: 6. Can it be used on a macro lens such as the nikon 105mm Z MC 2.8?

A: The Opteka 62mm 10x High Definition II Professional Macro Conversion Lens is compatible with the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S Macro Lens.

Q: 7. For 35mm loading, does this device have something that flattens the film before/as it scans? My film strips not only curl at the end which is no biggy but they bow like a tunnel all the way down which is my current issue and wondering if this machine will flatten before scanning so it is all in focus. Thank you in advance.

A: I believe you are talking about 35mm negatives, right? Assuming this is true, the negative holder that the negative strip is put into before putting it into the machine is kind if like a coin slide with a big window in the middle. The strip is contained by the sides of and positioned by the holder but the window allows the light to shoot thru the negative and digitize the photo. The holder does keep the negative somewhat flat but somehow I don't know how your negatives ever got curled up or bowed in the first place. That's beside the point, though. This negative holder will help but it does not clamp the negative down to make it flat. The negative strip, when it is in the holder, must have some looseness to allow you to slide the negative through the holder once it is in the machine in order to digitize more than one photo from that negative strip. So yes, it helps flatten it but any severe bowing or cupping will not be corrected by the holder. You would need to find a way to gently, over time, flatten the negative strips that are badly bowed/cupped. I'd use pressure by putting each one in the middle of separate pages of a real heavy book for a while and pile weight on top of it. Hope this helps.

Q: 8. Will the Wolverine F2D Titan converter's slide holder take glass or plastic mounted 35mm slides? (Glass and plastic mounts are generally slightly thicker than paper mounts.)

A: Paper or Plastic mounted slides would fit, glass slides would be too thick.

Q: 9. Does the 62mm size work OK with a 55mm lens and a 55-to-62mm step-up adapter, or is it better to just get the 55mm size?

A: The 62mm version can be used on a 55mm diameter lens with an adapter ring. However, I would not recommend buying the 62mm version unless you also have a 62mm diameter lens.

Q: 10. What is the operational humidity range for this?

A: The environmental humidity for the Marshall Electronics V-1055BNC 1/3-Inch CCD is listed as within 95% relative humidity. Additionally, the operating temperature is -20C to +55C or -4F to +131F.
