The PortaBrace RS-PX270 Rain Slicker for Panasonic AJ-PX270from PortaBrace RS-PX270 Rain Slicker for Panasonic AJ-PX270is a custom-fit protective cover designed to keep rain and dust off of your camera. It is made from 3-ply nylon and Fabuthane with soft tricot backed lining and features two clear vinyl windows for viewing the fold out screen and camera controls of the AJ-PX270. The front visor is detachable and a triple zippered bottom allows you to use the cover with or without a tripod. For added convenience, a touch fastener sealed rear flap allows for easy battery changes. A rain fly comes included for extra protection in rainy conditions.

Q: 1. I bought the Porta Brace RS-FS7 Rain Slicker for my Sony PXW-FS7 but it does not fit. It is too big and too complicated due to the many Velcro pieces that do not line up. Has anyone found a better fitting rain cover that is quicker and easier to fit?

A: I use the extension unit with a brick battery attached so it fits fine for me. I could see how it would be loose without that stuff. The only issue I had was trying to attach the control handle the best way possible. The only other slicker I've heard of is made by Camrade. I'm sure there are reviews out there somewhere. A: Yes, there should be enough room to fit a Shape remote arm under this rain cover.

Q: 3. Both PB rain covers for xf605 have poor reviews. How does this model differ from the QRS-XF605?

A: The PortaBrace RS-XF605 Rain Slicker for Canon XF605 only uses a hook-and-loop system to cover the camera, where as the PortaBrace Quick Slick Rain Cover for Canon XF605 (QRS-XF605) also has some cinch and zippers as well.

Q: 4. will this rain slicker cover Sony FS-7 with Sony extension mount with Anton Bauer Battery & Lectro Wireless receiver ?

A: According to images provided by Porta Brace, the RS-FS7 Rain Slicker can accommodate the camera with the Sony XDCA-FS7 Extension Unit plus a V mount battery. If you wish to usea Anton Bauer 3 pin Gold Mount, you would need a 15mm rod system with cheese plate to hold a Anton Bauer battery adapter. You could use a kit such as the Wooden Camera Sony FS7 Pro Accessory Kit B&H # WOWC185000 and Wooden Camera Gold Mount Battery Plate B&H # WOWC194300; both will be available soon. There should be no problem with that configuration with the slicker.Finally, you should have no issue with a mic receiver hung on the side or the front handle.

Q: 5. Will this rain cover also cover the lens (for example the 18-110 kit lens)?-Brian

A: PortaBrace says it tightly fits the lens hood.

A: This designed for the monitor on top.

A: The images have been updated. They show the FS7 with a V lock battery. There should be plenty of room for a radio mic.

A: yes this fold down into itself

A: no it will not fit the c300Miii the bodies are different

[0.7 lb] Great product, works as described. Very easy to attach when on the fly and stores easily in camera case. When it first arrives I recommend taking a few minutes to set it up on the camera system that you will be using it on and get all of the velcro sized and attached so that its ready to go when weather strikes. I love that it has a pop-out cover for the LCD screen that not only keeps it protected from weather but also acts as a sun shade during bright days. This cover also has access points (Velcro/zipper) to the camera controls (handle,focus & iris dials, etc) and a clear viewer on the side displaying the control buttons. I am also impressed with how well the Velcro stays attached in windy conditions. I've had models that would fly away as soon as the wind picks up but this one has stayed on in 30mph winds gusts, on tripod and even when hand held by the operators. Overall this is a great product that is worth the price. 5

[0.7 lb] Received my new rain slicker a few days before a big outdoor FS7 shoot where forecast was looking bleak. It was perfect timing! Like one should expect from Portabrace, this product specifically designed for the new Sony FS7 is easy to build onto the camera, and operational controls are easily accessed. Covers the camera completely including the XDCA adapter with battery. I do recommend using a matte box to protect the front of the lens from moisture but also to prevent compromising the image since the drawstring can wrap around the edge of a matte box. No need for the XL version of this product unless you plan to mount external monitor/recorder on the rear. Great value. 5

[0.7 lb] I actually use this more for dust than rain. Have had other tight fitting products for camcorders which were difficult to access controls, this product is not, all camcorder controls easily accessible, would highly recommend. We are filming deer videos, early and late hours, so all camcorder functions are by feel, easy to access camcorder controls. Will be able to test better next month, will be in Mexico for two months in a very dust environment. 5
