Machined from black anodized aluminum, this bracket offers added strength and versatility with its lightweight materials and black finish.

The pivoting arm has spring-loaded tension, a maximum 180° of rotation, and a 1/4"-20 post to mount a hot or cold shoe. It also has two adjustable clips to keep the flash cord from rotating on the bracket.

Designed to be easy-to-use and maintenance-free, you won't need to oil or lubricant.

Two 1/4"-20 threaded D-ring screws allow easy attachment of your camera and a hot or cold shoe for your flash. A female 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom of the bracket lets you attach the bracket to a tripod, monopod, or other support. Two additional female 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the pivoting arm are available for attaching optional accessories, and two mounting holes on the base plate enable attachment of the optional Custom Brackets AT anti-twist bar.

The bracket's nominal lens-to-flash distance is 11" (30 cm).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I shoot with the Sony a7III + 24-70m GM, do I need to a battery grip to use this flash bracket?

A: You can mount your camera without a grip on this bracket. It is a product geared to event photographers and they prefer using a grip for the vertical controls and long battery life. But it is not a requirement to have a grip.

Q: 2. Can the little knobs on the baseplate be removed to accommodate a larger (med. format) camera?

A: Yes, they are attached with little screws and can be removed.

Q: 3. How can the small and tall versions of this bracket both have a lens to flash distance of 11 inches? What are the actual heights of the vertical legs of the two brackets?

A: According to Custom Brackets, both models do have a nominal lens-to-flash distance of 11". The Tall model is mainly for cameras with a battery grip while the Small model only accepts cameras without a battery grip.

Q: 4. Any recommendations for a cold shoe attachment that will work with this bracket?

A: I would recommend the Custom Brackets MC Cold Shoe, B&H # CUMC, or the ProMediaGear 1/4"-20 Screw to Cold Shoe Adapter (2-Pack), B&H # PRCS2X2, for your usage needs on the Custom Brackets CB Mini-RC Camera Flash Bracket.

Q: 5. I am new to flash photography. I have a Nikon D500 with a battery grip. Do I need to purchase any additional accessories, besides the Nikon SC-29 flash cable, to get this bracket operational? Thanks in advance for any information.

A: Hi--you don't need anything else to make this work.

Q: 6. Will this work with the new Canon EOS R1?

A: Yes. The Custom Brackets CB Digital-SB Flash Bracket will fit a large pro camera such as the Canon R1.

Q: 7. Suitable for Canon 1DX with 600EX flash?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. Is there a way to mount this on a gimbal head?

A: Technically yes because it has a 1/4-20 female mount just like a camera or lens has. However, this Wimberley flash bracket was designed specifically for use on a gimbal head: https://bhpho.to/3ilu7Bw

Q: 9. Can this be placed on the right side of the camera? With still enough space for holding camera?

A: No

Q: 10. I shoot with D750 and primarily 24-120mm f/4G, 50mm 1.8g, 85mm 1.8g along with SB-800 flash/cord. Does this cause any flare? If you bounce the flash upwards on horizontal, do you experience shadows? Also do you experience shadows in vertical position? I use the regular Custom Brackets but want something smaller simply to avoid shadows.

A: I use the Mini-RC with a 24-70 lens. My subjects are usually 6 to 8 feet away.I don't get any flare when using the bracket. But I do get thin hard shadows behind my subjects on any walls or structures behind my subject.

[Flash Rotating] This low cost bracket is a must have. Very goog fabrication. It is a very affordable solution (ten times lower priced) to challenge the Promediagear Boomrang bracket for mounting my Profoto B2 head. Amazing.

[0.64 lb] This is just what I was looking for. It's high enough to accept my Canon 6D with a battery grip attached, with room to spare. It CAN be used on the left or right side. I especially like the Anti-Twist lugs for the camera and flash. A very high-quality bracket. You won't be disappointed.

[Aluminum, Foam] The CB Digital-S is a well designed and machined aluminum bracket with a strong, but easy to operate spring-loaded rotating arm allowing rapid switching from landscape to portrait orientation. The anti-rotate stop pins on the base-plate have a limited adjustment range so may not function properly on some smaller cameras, but if it fits your camera body, it will do the job. I use it to hold Lume Cube for front-fill lighting and have replaced the flash cold-shoe with a small 1/4-20 ball joint to allow quick positioning of the lamp. Works perfectly for thid application. I've use it with large DSLRs and lately with the Mirrorless EOS R and EOS RP which is as small a camera as will work with the anti-rotate pins

[Flash Rotating] Taller than most, with plasticized no-rotate adjustable pins for the camera and adjustable plates to keep the flash facing forward as well.  The extra height helps drop shadows behind a subject, if youre not too close to a wall. A firm spring in the handle keeps the upper arm from flopping around in either the vertical or horizontal position.  It does not have a cork or rubber base for the camera, so a camera could slide around if the no-rotate pins are removed or arent adjusted properly.  I simply cut out and glued a cork gasket to the camera platform.
I use it with Olympus micro four thirds cameras.
Four stars for not having a rubberized camera platform, back to five stars for the value and easy fix.

[Aluminum, Foam] I had many years ago a flash bracket built for my Sunpak 622 and it was similar to the one I am reviewing here. With the flash high above the lens, shadows are frantically reduced. When you change from portrait to landscape shots, the flash bracket rotates so the flash is always center over the lens and high above the lens.

The bracket’s weight is light considering the weight of my Nikon D780 , Sigma 24-105 lens and the Nikon SB5000 flash. When you add up all of this weight, this bracket adds very little and makes carrying the rig quite comfortable.

I highly recommend this bracket for its usability, weight and price!!

[0.64 lb] Not everyone needs a flash bracket, but if you do, this one is much nicer than the similarly-priced generic flip brackets sold under various brand names. Despite being almost featherweight, it holds my Nikon D7500 and Speedlight firmly in a well-balanced, easy to handle package. This non-folding model is an incredible value.
