This Focal Press book, Photography in 100 Words Exploring the Art of Photography with Fifty of its Greatest Masters aims to answer the question "what is photography?" Author David Clark has selected 50 iconic images by some of the world's greatest photographers and asked them to explain how the pictures were made. From these interviews he has chosen 100 words - two from each photographer - that encapsulates their philosophy, and which are picked out in bold in the text. Martin Parr, for example, likes to capture ambiguity in many of his images, whereas David Bailey hopes for the perfect accident. For Harry Benson a news picture must have a sense of crisis while reportage photographer Paolo Pellegrin sees his role as that of a witness. And while Harry Cory Wright strives for completeness in his landscapes, Michael Kenna is drawn to the idea of suggestion.

The highlighted words work on two levels. As well as giving insights into iconic images from the photographers who took them, they build over the course of the book into a unique creative lexicon of the photographic medium - one which crystallizes its many aims and functions, perspectives, and meanings. Thought-provoking, insightful, and inspirational, Photography in 100 Words will appeal to all photographers and anyone who seeks a better understanding of the medium.

Q: 1. I have standardized on Really Right Stuff quick release system of Arca-Swiss compatible plates and clamps. Since RRS does not appear to offer a custom foot for this lens's tripod mount, what is the best compact option for a generic RRS plate? Also, does the lens foot have an anti-twist locator pin, and if so will this mate with the RRS plate recommended?

A: This Sigma lens does not have an anti twist pin acceptor. However, by using the Really Right Stuff B9 Multi-Directional Plate (BH#REB9PLATE) you will have a plate which is both compact and anti twist (this plate has an anti twist flange).

Q: 2. Does this work on a Nikon D4s?

A: I am no sure, I personally own canon cameras

Q: 3. Can I use this lens on a FX format camera body?

A: Yes you can, but it'll crop to an DX/APS-C sensor area.

Q: 4. Will it fully cover a super 35 sensor?

A: Yes, it will cover a super 35.

Q: 5. Will it work with the Canon EOS M 50 mirrorless with lens adapter.

A: The Canon EF-M Lens Adapter Kit for Canon EF / EF-S Lenses B&H # CALA is needed in order to use this Sigma lens on the Canon EOS M50.

Q: 6. Would this lens function like a 50-100mm with an MC-11 and a full-frame camera like the Sony A7S III (with APS-C turned off), or would that create vignetting issues?

A: It will have a vignette in the situation you described.

Q: 7. Is the Sigma 50-100mm Zoom an Internal Focusing lens? Meaning is it a Pumper i.e. changes length when zooming and/or focusing or does it remain a constant length throughout it's zoom range? Thanks!

A: it is internal.. the zoom does not extend the camera's length.

Q: 8. Is there a reason this model or any of the Sigma Art Series are not weather sealed?

A: At this time, Sigma is only providing weather sealing on their sports line of lenses. I dont know if they have plans to weather lenses in the Art or Contemporary lines in the future.

Q: 9. If I were to use the 77mm Variable ND (by Tiffen) would I get vignetting? If it helps, I use the G85 with Metabones ULTRA 0.71 Speedbooster

A: You should not experience any vignetting.

Q: 10. Can the lens hood be used together with a filter?

A: Yes! The hood attaches on the outside, so you can screw in a filter.

[Yes] I got a larger one I have on my wall last summer and this is a nice addition and sits on a shelf by my bed and is nice to look at while reading in bed. Well made, attractive and practical. So much better than those old slideshow picture frames from years ago. Plus if you're a member you have access to all the ancient art of antiquity and motion art and they have some good ones. Five stars on this creation.
