[V-Mount] Typical hoodman quality. Fits nicely on a SmallHD 703 not blocking any controls while shading the image from glare. Monitor is so bright the hood is mostly for privacy or glare.

I order a Manfrotto 241S her in Montreal Quebec Canada. When it arrived 2 weeks later, I try it and it was defective, the suction was not working :-( .


I call B&H service explain and report the problem they say no problem, they sand me an other 241S no charge and I keep the the defective one they say. Thank you B&H.

[V-Mount] Overall, I'm impressed with the battery bracket. It holds my micro IDX batteries very nicely on the SmallHD Cine18. Slot 1 slides perfectly, slot 2 needs the release pin pushed to put on the battery. I'm not sure why it doesn't work as well as slot 1. Very little play in the bracket and it is well built. I use a Paramount VESA bracket on the back and the battery bracket doesn't interfere with the mini V-Mounts. However the larger IDX-198's I have couldn't mount with the Paramount VESA as it it gets in the way. It's fine, I'll just use the mini's for the monitor. Another thing to mention is the voltage of the IDX mini is displayed on the Cine18 but the minute runtime isn't. My RED can read the battery, I'm not sure why the monitor cannot. Overall, this might as well ship with the monitor. For on-location work, it's a must have.

[V-Mount] Attachment is simple to any Edelkrone device that is designed to be a PRO version. All other devices will require a drilled & tapped screw hole in the plate or simply only using one of the attachment screws. This V-plate allows easy mount & release of the battery. The attached connection cord is short, for obvious reasons, but will dictate the orientation of the plate. A V-mount plate & battery are needed if you plan very long sequence shots, like overnight or all-day time-lapse.

[V-Mount] Well made and works well. My only complaint is that it doesn't raise up high enough for smaller lenses. For the big fat heavy lenses, though, it's perfect!

[V-Mount] Using this on a SmallHD 702 because the SmallHD sun hood is overpriced, hard to mount, and an overall silly and fragile design. This Hoodman fits the monitor just fine and is much more simple and durable, and can be used on other 7 in monitors as well.

[V-Mount] The Edelkrone V-Mount Bracket fits easily on the upright of the HeadPlus V2, but only has one barrel connector and one D-Tap port. Furthermore a full-sized V-Mount battery adds nearly 3.5 lbs to the setup, off-center at that. The Edelknrone V-Mount Power Source is a much better choice.
