Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the grain direction on the 13x19 paper, GS or GL?

A: According to Moab, unfortunately they produce all of their sheet paper in either GS or GL based on lot number. Due to our large inventory, we cannot confirm the ones we test will be the ones you receive. Moab's website says "Depending on the converting yields, we cut our sheets in both short and long grain configurations and record the grain direction in the lot numbers with either a GL or GS for 'grain long' or 'grain short' respectively." They mention contacting Moab directly for specific projects that require grain direction for information on specific batches of paper.

Q: 2. After printing on this paper, do you use any kind of finisher or sealant to protect the print? If it matters, I'll be using an Epson surecolor printer and manufacturer pigments.

A: It is not necessary to use any finisher or sealant to ensure longevity of a print printed on the Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II paper. If you plan on having this displayed uncovered for a long period of time, you may want to use something. But for most standard usage this is not necessary.

Q: 3. Can I use this paper to print with canon pro 1000? Rear tray instead of manual tray?

A: Yes, it is compatible.

Q: 4. How is Canson Infinity Photographique II different from its predecessor Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique?

A: The Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II is slightly thinner than the original (11.9 vs 12.2mil) but other than that they are the same.

Q: 5. What's the main difference between Lasal Matte and Entrada Matte? Which would work better for prints mounted to greeting cards? Need a soft velvet matte finish.

A: The Entrada paper is thicker, 15.5mil. If you are mounting the paper to greeting cards, the thinner Lasal would probably be fine. As far as which one looks better would be a matter of opinion and might vary depending on the image too.

Q: 6. Does this paper have an ICC profile for Photoshop?

A: Printer profiles for the Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II to be used in Photoshop can be found here: https://www.canson-infinity.com/en/icc-profiles?fp=2727

Q: 7. what grain is this cut to?

A: Good question. Each box is coded with the grain direction by either a 'GS' for Grain Short - or 'GL' for Grain Long within the lot number that is printed on the back side of the box on the label. The lot number will be a series of letters and numbers stamped on the label. The GS or GL indicates grain direction.

Q: 8. Can this paper be used with standard ink? EX Epson T542 ink.

A: The Epson DS Transfer Multiuse Paper (100 Sheets, 8.5 x 11"), B&H #EPTMP8511100, is only compatible with Dye Sublimation printers. It does not work for Inkjet or Laser printers.

Q: 9. How do u rate this fpr monochrome prints

A: Hi Arvind. Thanks for your inquiry. The paper is superb for both monochrome and color, with an advanced coating that reproduces a wide tonal range. You'll also get very good detail in the blacks with its high dmax.

Q: 10. Is there any way to request short grain or long grain for this paper?

A: Hi Clint, although you cannot specifically order by grain direction, the grain direction is indicated on each box of paper in the lot# on the reverse side of the box - on the label. Within the series of stamped letters and numbers is either GS or GL indicating grain direction.Having said that, on the larger sheets like A2 and 17x22 the grain direction will almost always be GL due to the yields in the manufacturing process.

[Cotton Rag] I had high hopes for this paper when I purchased it. I've had high hopes before and been disappointed with printing media and printers. This paper was outstanding. The depth of the black and whites I printed feel are the same as darkroom quality. The paper feels amazing and the images are complemented by the incredible surface of this paper. Each print belongs in an art gallery. A+

[305 gsm] I have evaluated this paper and I am pleased with the image quality with deep blacks and bright whites. I recommend it to everyone to try for themselves. It is less expensive that other papers in teh same category.

[4.195 lb] Whether in B&W or color, I use this now for finished prints. Great feel and just the right amount of luster. I have many different papers on hand, but find this very pleasing.

[4.195 lb] Moab Juniper is the absolute best medium I've used for printing my fine art photographic images, and because it's an expensive option, I was delighted to be able to buy it from B&H at a significantly lower price than other dealers charge. B&H delivered my order quickly. It was packed in an oversize box with wrapping materials that assured it would arrive safely. I appreciate the care that was demonstrated.

[Cotton Rag] This is one of my favorite papers. I use it mainly for color, but does fairly well with bw. The surface is very nice, I find moab's colorado sattine to be a thinner 'luster' version of the Juniper. (also like the colorado) Moab's profiles are always on point with my canon pro 1 and they perform better than the profiles I made with my color munki. I've used a lot of Moab's products and they've never failed me. They might not be the most exceptional paper out there but between quality, consistency, profiles, and cost, you can't go wrong. I will be using Moab's products for a long time.

[Cotton Rag] I've printed on a lot of high-end ink-jet papers over the years, most of them were very, very good, but the Moab Juniper Baryta Rag 305 became my go-to paper a long time ago. It's excellent for color and b/w work, the surface most closely resembles the air-dried printing papers I used in the darkroom. Absolutely gorgeous.

[Single] I've only printed B&W so far but that is what I usually print. The prints look fantastic. I like the feel of rag papers. The surface has a sheen when viewed from an angle - not a glossy surface but not like a matte paper. When viewed normally the surface disappears and the print looks great. Nice deep blacks but not a glossy paper. Recommend it.

[4.195 lb] This is one of my favorite papers. I use it for both black and white and color images. The results have been stunning. The slight warmth is great for my B&W images. The paper needs to dry down about 48 hours to really see the full richness. I use my old drying racks to let them air out. The paper ha a minor texture which is very pleasing. The paper can be viewed at multi angles with no problems.
