Print bright, vivid photographs with this 60" x 100' roll of Moab Lasal Photo Matte 230 Paper 60" x 100' Rollfrom Moab. Offering a smooth matte finish with an outstanding brightness of 111%, this 230 gsm paper will handle a wide range of prints. Also, the alpha cellulose base has a thickness of 11 mil for easy handling and an opacity of 86%. Boosting the brightness of the paper is OBA content while the paper is acid and lignin free for longevity. Additionally, it is water resistant and comes on a 3" core.

A: Matte black ink is typically used for lettering and documents. Pictures typically use the Photo black ink.

A: It needs the UltraSmooth Fine Art paper setting.

A: Hi Arvind. Thanks for your inquiry. The paper is superb for both monochrome and color, with an advanced coating that reproduces a wide tonal range. You'll also get very good detail in the blacks with its high dmax.

Q: 5. what kind of surface does this stick best on?

A: it still really well on metal and glass. It can also be used on drywall, but the wall must be sanded and cleaned first for it to really stick... and over time it sort of begins to peel away.

Q: 6. what grain is this cut to?

A: Good question. Each box is coded with the grain direction by either a 'GS' for Grain Short - or 'GL' for Grain Long within the lot number that is printed on the back side of the box on the label. The lot number will be a series of letters and numbers stamped on the label. The GS or GL indicates grain direction.

Q: 7. What is the grain direction on the 13x19 paper, GS or GL?

A: According to Moab, unfortunately they produce all of their sheet paper in either GS or GL based on lot number. Due to our large inventory, we cannot confirm the ones we test will be the ones you receive. Moab's website says "Depending on the converting yields, we cut our sheets in both short and long grain configurations and record the grain direction in the lot numbers with either a GL or GS for 'grain long' or 'grain short' respectively." They mention contacting Moab directly for specific projects that require grain direction for information on specific batches of paper.

A: Brightness: 96%

Q: 9. can you get this paper cut in sheets?

A: You cannot get this paper cut in sheets. But, you can get the Epson Premium Semimatte Archival Photo Inkjet Paper in different sizes.

Q: 10. Which black ink does this use? Matte or glossy?

A: The ICC profile shows for MK, which is Matte Black ink.

[Yes] I bought this paper for an exhibition of my bird photography. To me it feels like a cut above Epson Ultra Premium Luster or Canon Pro Luster. It gives an almost 3-D pop to my prints. The texture is very subtle, and does a good job of reducing glare and reflections. For limited edition fine art prints that I sell to collectors I will keep using Hahnemuhle papers because, unfortunately, this particular Moab paper is not 100% archival--it does contain optical brighteners. But for open edition prints and other less critical applications, this paper strikes a good balance between quality and affordability. 5
