The IR623-PoE-2 Series 850nm Long Range IR Illuminator (623’, 10°) from Iluminar offers IR lighting for video surveillance systems. The unit covers multiple scenes up to a distance of 623'. With an IP67 rating, it is vandal proof and can be used indoors and outdoors. The anodized aluminum housing provides protection from harsh weather conditions. This illuminator has no hot spots, a wide emission angle at long range, and avoids attracting insects that obscure a camera's view. IR illumination is an ideal source of illumination for security cameras, as it is invisible to the human eye but visible to night vision cameras. It also avoids problems caused by light pollution and has a longer range than visible light.

A: I may have found it myself. In the datasheet it shows they're shipped with a 24V, 0.5A Gigabit PoE Adapter.

A: Yes, the controller should be used only when sending settings to the unit. At my home, the controller is almost never used.

Q: 6. I purchased Pearstone 50' Cat6 Snagless Patch Cable (it was recommended) 1. Is the the correct cable? 2. Will the 50' length reduce strength?

A: 1) Yes. That cable is perfect. If anything, it's overkill but it will definitely work without issue.2) No. I think you could theoretically use up to 300'. I have had issues with a cable getting longer than 200' but I have many of these AP's on cables well over 100' without issue so you should be fine.

Q: 7. Is B&H selling the newer AC-LR units (datecode 1638 and beyond) that are capable of 802.3af PoE or do they still require 24V?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-LR-US 802.11ac Long Range Access Point B&H # UBUAPACLRUS is 24V but it can be used with PoE.

Q: 8. Does this unit have a pass thru data port on the back so you can connect another unit in line with it?

A: There is no pass through on this unit.

Q: 9. Can this AP be powered by a non-Ubiquiti PoE router such as Netgear GS108PE or TP Link SG1008PE?

A: It comes with a PoE injector, but it can be powered by PoE compatible routers as well.

Q: 10. How long is the POE cable which connects this Unifi unit to the POE adapter?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-LR-US 802.11ac Long Range Access Point BH #UBUAPACLRUS does not include any Ethernet cables. If you are referring to the power cord for the PoE injector, it is approximately 1.5'.

[High Power PoE] Bought 2 after other cheaper illuminators were low-light. THey run off a 12 V 7AH battery and the beam means they illuminate objects within 50 ft or more! 5

[108' (33 m)] After I bought the first one and seeing how good it was, I ordered 3 more. They are that good for license plate reading. I have to say that I am now in the 99 percentile in reading license plates. I am going to post a picture of a golf cart with a standard California plate. The measured distance is 187 feet. The camera I am using is a Dahua 5442E-Z4E at full extension. I do not recommend using this camera at over 75 feet for license plate gathering. 5

[High Power PoE] Well-built and surprisingly bright for a short range illuminator. My only gripe is the user manual I received, it came in every language except English. I would have preferred more technical information about optimum placement and more intelligible graphs for the various diffusers. Even so, not a big issue. A couple minutes of trial and error and you'll have the neighborhood lit up nicely. Definitely recommend. 5

[Via cable] I bought a similar version from another manufacture to increase the license plate reading capability of my Dahua 5442E-Z4E license plate camera. It was a nice step in the right direction. So, I decided to up the IR some more and see how that would work. While searching the internet I found this model with double the IR power. I bought one and it was an even bigger success. I can now read close to 100% of the plates. So, I have ordered two more to go in my other locations. By the way, this one draws 1 Amp @ 12vdc of power according to the spec sheet that came with the camera. For comparison the other one draw 4/10 of an amp at 12vdc. I am very impressed with this unit. 5

[High Power PoE] Using this to light up the side yard all the way to the back fence, about 90 feet. Just like in Iluminar's youtube videos this thing throws IR light everywhere. I love that a separate camera in a opposite corner that just sees the backyard sees the massive amount of IR light that it puts out. I have this model and the IR148 both are built solid after a year later still waterproof and working fine. 5

[108' (33 m)] I've had a few of these scattered about the property for a couple years now. Throws a lot of IR and have been flawless. Beam pattern, IR power, and photocell sensitivity are adjustable. 5
