The IR623-PoE-2 Series 850nm Long Range IR Illuminator (328’, 30°) from Iluminar offers IR lighting for video surveillance systems. The unit covers multiple scenes up to a distance of 328'. With an IP67 rating, it is vandal proof and can be used indoors and outdoors. The anodized aluminum housing provides protection from harsh weather conditions. This illuminator has no hot spots, a wide emission angle at long range, and avoids attracting insects that obscure a camera's view. IR illumination is an ideal source of illumination for security cameras, as it is invisible to the human eye but visible to night vision cameras. It also avoids problems caused by light pollution and has a longer range than visible light.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This may be a newbie type of question - can I use one or more of these to extend my Apple router based home network to parts it does not currently reach and can I use these access points to connect wired cameras with PoE? I know I would need added power injectors for the last part.

A: Yes, these access points can be used for both of those functions.

Q: 2. Can this AP be powered by a non-Ubiquiti PoE router such as Netgear GS108PE or TP Link SG1008PE?

A: It comes with a PoE injector, but it can be powered by PoE compatible routers as well.

Q: 3. Can this hold the VidPro TT-76 tripod (26" long and 3 pounds in weight)?

A: Yes, it would be able to hold that tripod.

Q: 4. Is this rated to be outside?

A: No, this is not a outdoor model. BH #UBUAPACMUS is rated to be outside

Q: 5. Is B&H selling the newer AC-LR units (datecode 1638 and beyond) that are capable of 802.3af PoE or do they still require 24V?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-LR-US 802.11ac Long Range Access Point B&H # UBUAPACLRUS is 24V but it can be used with PoE.

Q: 6. What the warranty on this bag?

A: Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Q: 7. Does this include the bottle holder?

A: According to Vanguard's website on the VEO T45M, it does. :) https://www.vanguardworld.com/products/veo-range-t-45m-bg-backpack-beige "This backpack also comes with a detachable bottle holder that can be attached to the webbing."

Q: 8. Does the 5 pack come with the Poe adapters?

A: Definitely not! Thats part of the cost savings

Q: 9. Are the new AP's compatible with the legacy AP's on the same network?

A: Yes, The new AP's will be backwards compatible with the older units on the same network.

Q: 10. What is it with the US tag in the part number? Is it strictly reserved for US residents? I'm from Canada and would like to buy one of these someday.

A: From Ubiquiti's community website...The reason why there are two versions (other brands other versions as well), because in the US, they do not allow devices which are capable of operating outside the US Regulatory domain by the FCC. In terms of the difference or a super-set, the US Version is basically a World Version restricted to operate within the US Regulatory domain. In terms of a product purchase, if you were purchasing from a US seller, you can only get the US version since they are allowed to sell this version. There are some sellers in the US which do sell the World Version, however they can only ship it to addresses outside of the US. If you were purchasing from outside the US, they will have World Versions (ie. Canada).

[High Power PoE] Working great on 500ft of cat5e in underground conduit to a remote NVR. No issues at all. (I first tried to connect the NVR without the extenders and It did not work.)

[30°] This really lights up the target area. It was well worth the purchase price. Just realize that it's a large, heavy light.

The mount is cheaply made. I don't know who they have making it, but it doesn't have the ATN quality that I expected. I had to re-tap the screw holes just to get it mounted. The adjustments are a little awkward and with heavy recoil it tends to move.

[3.3 lb (1.5 kg)] Bought 2 after other cheaper illuminators were low-light. THey run off a 12 V 7AH battery and the beam means they illuminate objects within 50 ft or more!

[3.3 lb (1.5 kg)] I did quite a bit of research before making this purchase.

I used NVGs and other night vision devices when I was in the U.S. Army. The Axton products are military grade and built like a tank with a lifetime warranty to boot.

Plus, they provide world-class customer service. I'm very pleased with my purchase and it is worth every penny.

[328' (100 m)] Used other extenders and was able to extend the power without issue. But the data was still kind of off. These extended them both using the POE directly from the switch. Recommend them to anyone looking to use existing cat6 cable vs switching to fiber.

[177' (54 m)] I bought a similar version from another manufacture to increase the license plate reading capability of my Dahua 5442E-Z4E license plate camera. It was a nice step in the right direction. So, I decided to up the IR some more and see how that would work. While searching the internet I found this model with double the IR power. I bought one and it was an even bigger success. I can now read close to 100% of the plates. So, I have ordered two more to go in my other locations. By the way, this one draws 1 Amp @ 12vdc of power according to the spec sheet that came with the camera. For comparison the other one draw 4/10 of an amp at 12vdc. I am very impressed with this unit.

[177' (54 m)] Added this for my License Plate Camera and it is better than expected with a focused high intensity IR light that reflects off of plates making all plates at night easily readable. See attached photos and note emitters are red and visible just hard to photograph.

Also have 2 other Axton IR emitters for the front yard that replaced some cheap IR emitters. The difference in coverage, distance and even spread is night and day.

[30°] Using this to light up the side yard all the way to the back fence, about 90 feet. Just like in Iluminar's youtube videos this thing throws IR light everywhere. I love that a separate camera in a opposite corner that just sees the backyard sees the massive amount of IR light that it puts out. I have this model and the IR148 both are built solid after a year later still waterproof and working fine.

[36 W] I've had a few of these scattered about the property for a couple years now. Throws a lot of IR and have been flawless. Beam pattern, IR power, and photocell sensitivity are adjustable.
