[143 mm] This matte box is worth every penny. You may be thinking “it’s just a matte box why spend that amount of money on something basic”. The reason id edge you in this direction is the quality of Arri products at a industry cheep price. The stages feel nice when slid into place and also feel secure. The customization is great because you can build as budget comes in. It’s durable and adjustable. Wooden is a great company and their products have always treated me well. 5

[Plastic] Matte boxes are a funny thing... you definitely need them and they're definitely expensive. I test drove a few, ranging in price and landed on Wooden's. It fulfills all my needs. It's lightweight, durable, really ergonomically sound, and most importantly, fits my old vintage lens which has a super large lens diameter. Not many matte boxes fit the older, larger vintage lenses and this one did. I love the swing away arm and the filter trays are great. 5

[0.135 lb] I've owned a few matte boxes and rented even more. The Wooden Camera UMB-1 is by far my favorite, the weight is good, it expands to suite your needs and all of the added rails are probably the best added feature. Like all Wooden Camera gear you know it will last and evolve across different platforms. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. 5

[110 mm] Love this matte box. Fits over our zacuto rails perfect. We use xeen glass. The skirt fits solid o the front of the lens housing. It is a bit tight and makes rolling focus a little harder. The top flag quick release is garbage. I tighten with an allen key and works great. We use 4x5.65 filters that fit perfect. 5

[Plastic] Although this only arrived about a couple of weeks ago, I don't know how I ever survived without it! The design and manufacturing quality are superb, as is the completeness of the kit. I also bought the Pelican case in which the cut foam packing of the kit fits perfectly, so I am able to transport the kit safely. I could not be happier! I use the product with a Sony FS7, which it fits perfectly. All I needed to do was to ensure I had a good range of 15mm rod lengths so I can use the matte box with ALL my lenses. FYI, the majority of my lenses (Sony 28-135mm, several of my Nikkors and my Xeen lenses) need 8in. rods. I admit that I haven't owned equivalent matte boxes from other manufacturers, but seriously doubt that this kit is rivalled by anything on the market in its price range. 5
