Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this stand be suitable for a shotgun mic (like the Rode NTG2)? I want to use it for interviews.

A: I believe so, it's possible you may need a different clamp than the one that comes with it. Note that although it is a telescoping boom, you still need to balance the weight, so make sure the distance is sufficient.

Q: 2. WHAT IS THE FEMALE THREAD SIZE WHERE THE BOOM ATTACHES TO MC125 MIC STAND?

A: The Mini Drop Boom features a 5/8 -27 threading to attach to the MC-125 stand.

Q: 3. What is the total length at collapse position? I want a stand with arm that will fit inside my Pelican 1650 case for flights.

A: I contacted the manufacturer to confirm the collapsed length of the Auray MS-5220T Short Tripod Microphone Stand. The collapsed length of the stand without the boom arm attached is 17.7” and 24.5” with the boom arm attached.

Q: 4. exactly what all things comes with this kit?

A: In the box of the Cambo V-40 Pro Video Boom you get: a Base, a Bowl Arm, a Jib and a V47 Sliding Weight Support. More information is a available here: http://bit.ly/2u8Ze7E

Q: 5. Does it work with the razer seiren mini?

A: Yes, you can attach the Razer Seiren mic to the Pyle Pro boom arm.

Q: 6. Is this product recommended for ‘Rode Podmic’?

A: You can utilize this studio arm, but not the shockmount. The Rode Podmic has it's own mic holder, and is too wide to fit into the shock mount included with this boom arm. That being said, it is still a good value.

Q: 7. Can I mount this on a glass table?

A: Yes, the Pyle Pro PMKSH01 Suspension Microphone Boom Arm can attach to any tabletop or shelf, as long as the thickness is not wider than the opening of the clamp.

Q: 8. Does this work with the Samsung g track pro?

A: While technically this could work with the G Track Pro, it is not ideal since it's giving you a shock mount and cable that are not compatible. For the G Track Pro, you would need the Samson specific shock mount B&H # SASP04TB, and a broadcast arm like this BH #PYPMKSHUSB04

Q: 9. Can this be used to mount a small camera? What's the weight capacity of this arm?

A: The arm would be used with microphones less than 2 lbs in weight. Be aware that the threading is 5/8"-27. Use this adapter: WindTech M19 5/8"-27 Female to 1/4"-20 Male Adapter BH #WIM8219: https://bhpho.to/2w6kEs5

Q: 10. How much weight can this hold? I'm looking to boom this from the ceiling with a Rode NTG3 attached to it and hoping that my NTG3 rig will hold fine on this. Also, hoping to mount this to the ceiling t-bar/tile instead of a typical desk. Any answers to that would be appreciated. Thanks!

A: Mounting will not be an issue in your case and the arm should be able to handle up to about 2 lbs with no problem.

[Telescoping] My wife and I bought this boom to add to a mic stand we already own. It has great adjustability, doesn't tip over the stand, and my wife can operate it easily even with arthritic fingers.

[Telescoping] Well made. This is my first purchase of a JamStands product and I am impressed with the quality and price point. Have used many boom arms in the past and it appears that this one will outlast the ones I've used previously easily. Great product.

[Telescoping] Thick gauge steel, heavy, stays in place. Unsure about twist lock release for legs - great (new) design or hassle of a feature that's gonna break?? All good for now. If you're as frustrated by cheapo mic stands as I am this is for you.

[Black] I am a semi-professional musician who gigs a couple of times a month. I use this mic stand at rehearsals and gigs. While it is very inexpensive, I think it gives great value for the money. The base is wide and stable, the boom telescopes, which gives a lot of options for set-up, the collars lock securely, and the black powder coat finish looks very nice onstage. The only thing I might list as a con with this stand is that the threads where the boom attaches to the stand and the threads on the boom for the mic clip seem to be somewhat fragile. I have not had a problem, as I simply took care when attaching the boom and clip to their respective threads. But, it good to note that such care is necessary. I bought this stand along with the Ultimate mic clips. These are also a terrific value. I recommend buying a couple of the clips when you buy the stand. Overall, this stand is more than one would expect for the very low price and I am very happy with it. Highly recommended!

[Telescoping] I bought this product for use in my music studio. ...The downside about this product is that getting it stand sturdy is a little difficult, the stand has to drop completely to the ground or it'll lean to the side if it's not parallel. Great product for the price, would definitely buy again.

[Telescoping] I have replaced many of my booms with this unit. The clutch keeps the mic where you set it with no issues. Easy grip, and even lets you move it while it is tightened without stripping it out. And its about time somebody actually put a decent sized counterweight on the end of the stand. I use it live playing in cover bands.
