Set up an A/V space in your office, boardroom, classroom, or theater with the Atlona AT-HD-SC-500 3-Input Switcher and Scaler. With dual HDMI inputs and a VGA input that can be routed to a single HDMI output, the AT-HD-SC-500 is best for smaller A/V applications. Set the output resolution to fit your television, monitor, or projector, and the AT-HD-SC-500 will automatically scale the incoming SD, HD, or VESA signal to fit the selected resolution. This functionality ensures that output video will be compatible with the display in use with minimal to no handshake time.

Professional integration connections include balanced analog audio outputs on captive screw connections for de-embedding audio as well as RS-232 and Ethernet for machine and IP control, respectively. A power supply is included and rack ears are provided for installation in equipment rooms.

A: Hello,No, BNC connector on the SE-500 is for a Composite signal input. Our SE-1200MU switcher is a HD switcher that accepts HD-SDI or HDMI signals. It is compatible with Composite output from a consumer camera. Thanks!

Q: 2. Is this unit NTSC or PAL or both?

A: You can choose between 50 or 60 fps.

Q: 3. As far as i understand from current pdf spec's sheet from datavideo this unit doesn't have software audio mixer? I.e. i can assign sound channel from any sdi or hdmi input to any output but cannot mix different sources (for example XLR + SDI2) to one output? Maybe there is a changes connected with a new firmware or software?

A: The main idea with SE-1200 is to use an external audio mixer then connect it to the XLR inputs of SE-1200. If you would like to also mix a camera audio input with the other audio, then you could use a Datavideo audio de-embedder (DAC-90) which will extract the audio from the SDI then allow you to connect it to an external audio mixer. If you only need 4 inputs instead of 6, you may want to consider the SE-650. It does have a built in audio mixer which would allow you to control audio levels on an embedded audio signal from HDMI or SDI camera input. The price is lower and you don't need a control surface since it's built into the switcher.Craig

Q: 4. Does this unit make noticeable fan noise? I found the Roland V-1HD and BlackMagic ATEM Television HD (latest) they all have loud noise and did not work for my quiet studio and now I am looking at this unit. Thank you.

A: According to Datavideo: The unit has a single 2 fan in the back, its rather quiet, but I do not have any comparative testing to back that up.In a recessed equipment rack you probably would not hear it however, it seems that the customer has a single room studio without a control room. What I can say is weve never picked up any fan noise when recording our product videos featuring the 1200.

A: Hello,Yes, it supports 1080i or 720p at 50, 59.94, or 60 Hz. You just need to set it in the menu.Thanks!

Q: 6. How would I connect (setup) for multi-view (viewing all input sources) Is this possible?

A: The Datavideo SE-1200MU has SDI outputs that you can use with recording devices. The Atomos Samurai Blade is a nice option to record directly to a Solid State Drive. You can also look in to an H.264 encoder for both recording and streaming, such as the Datavideo NVS-25.

Q: 8. Is there a control surface that will work with the RS422 port on this?

A: The SE-1200MU is designed to be fully controlled from any Windows Laptop/PC and Android tablet, iPad or Mac with the included SE-1200 software control panel. Datavideo does not make a control surface for it, the RS422 port is for integration with Crestron Control Panels.

A: The SE-1200MU has one assignable HDMI output and two assignable SDI outputs. The second HDMI output is for the multi-view only.

[Up to 24-bit] We had much trouble converting our video source and getting the frame rate we needed. The less expensive converters would just not do the trick. Out of the box this worked perfectly and immediately solved our problem. It is a simple device and cicuitboard, but the software on the chip is worth the money if you need it! 5

[8/10/12-bit] I received this as a wonderful Christmas gift from my mother, the Kramer VP-770. I am using it to digitize a number of VHS/Beta/Hi-8/and DVD performances from my Alma Mater, as well as from other clients. It has performed superbly. The ability to Time Base Code the squiggly analog tapes and output a clean 720P or 1080P signal, plus being able to align the audio signal, has been a blessing. In the world of digital there are a number of analog items that may be lost. I am grateful that Kramer makes a truly spectacular TBC Switcher/Upscaler to complete the restoration. 5

[Up to 24-bit] If you have the occasion to need to convert SDI or SDI-HD to VGA then buy this unit. It does what it's suppose to do and it does it extraordinarily well. This is pure video excellence. I realize this is now more of an odd piece but when the need arises choose a DAC-60. 5

[4:4:4, 4:2:2] Our use case is driving two large 4k TVs in a conference room. We have a wireless streaming device, a Blackmagic SDI-HDMI converter, and two wall-plate HDMI inputs coming into the switcher. Sources are a mixture of HD, and 4k signals. A previous matrix switcher was unable to consistently negotiate the EDIDs and we were dealing with constant connection issues. So far, this A-Neuvideo switcher is functioning flawlessly. Things I love: * Solid construction and simple/clear controls * Not only an IR receiver extension, but two IR transmitters included so you can pass power on/off (for example) signals to your display devices * Included mounting brackets (metal, not plastic) and hardware * Web interface that just works and makes configuration and troubleshooting much easier * Included remote isn't premium, but a much better build than previous switcher * ~1-second signal switching time across all four inputs * Price was excellent given the feature set * Standoff screw posts for each HDMI input/output for HDMI cables with a screw lock to prevent them from wiggling loose Things I wish were different: * Phoenix connectors on the back make sense for serial connections, but seem unnecessary for analog audio - RCA or stereo connectors would have been preferred, in my opinion * Blue indicator LEDs are a little too bright and cast significant ambient light Bottom line: We haven't had this switcher long enough to comment on longevity, but if it continues to perform at this level we will be very happy. 5

[8/10/12-bit] I have a Pioneer krp-500m monitor, which has limited HDMI inputs and no optical output. I'm using this switch to connect a chromecast, ps4, and nintendo switch, while outputting the audio via optical to a sound bar. It works perfectly and the auto-switching is great. Even though I'm not using the HDR and 4K capabilities right now, it'll be nice to have for a future monitor and TV. 5

[0.6 lb / 270 g] Had to send HD-sdi to some older displays in our balcony that are fed from 5-bnc. Had to cycle through the resolutions to find the best one, but it works great, and we were able to take out an old scaler that was messing with the image!! 5
