The white Sanken COS-11D Lavalier Mic for Sennheiser Transmittersis a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a 3-pin LEMO connector and is wired for use with Sennheiser transmitters. A metal windscreen, holder clip, rubber mount, and plastic case are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use with Sony UTX-B40?

A: The Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector & Accessories cannot be used with a Sony transmitter such as the UTX-B40. Although the physical connector is the same, the internal wiring for Sony and Sennheiser compatible microphones is different.

Q: 2. I see the box is phantom powered, but how does it pass 48v to condenser mics? If so, can 48v be turned off for use with dynamic mics?

A: This unit is made to power the Sennheiser MAS-1 button pecifically, to bring power to it and make it programmable for On, On/Off, PTT, and PTM modes. The phantom power from the mixer would go to the connected condenser microphone in the chain and if you are using a dynamic microphone it will not be affected by the condenser power in the line.

Q: 3. Can this be plugged directly into a Zoom H1?

A: No, it will not connect properly to the H1.

Q: 4. Will this work with the new Rode Wireless PRO TX?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector is compatible for use with the transmitters included with the RODE Wireless PRO 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System.

Q: 5. will this hold a sony ecm-673?

A: While the Rycote Standard Hole SGM 18cm Foam Windscreen will work with the diameter of the Sony ECM-673 Short Shotgun Microphone, the windscreen's length will leave less than an inch at the end of the ECM-673 for attaching a shock mount or mic clip. A shorter, more ideal option for the Sony ECM-673 would be the Rycote 104408 10cm Standard Hole SGM Foam (BH #RYSGM10IJ01): https://bhpho.to/3x63G9d

Q: 6. My question was whether it was equivalent to the Sennheiser windscreen in high frequency reduction as I will be using it in my studio for a voiceover mic and don’t want to lose any of the high frequencies?

A: This windscreen would be about equal to any high frequency reductions caused by the Sennheiser windscreen.

Q: 7. Does anyone if this will this fit an M/S pair of Schoeps mics(CMC6-MK41/MK8) when used with the Rycote back to back clips?

A: This kit is compatible with the Schoeps CMC Series. Please contact RYCOTE directly for your custom configuration with various microphone models.Rycote Microphone Windshields Ltd:Email:Tech Support: tech_support@a href= http://rycote.com target= _blank rycote.com/a

Q: 8. can this be used as a wired lav for a dslr (with a long adapter cable)?

A: Anything is possible, but not recommended in this case. I think most DSLR audio inputs are at line level and not mic level. It's really meant for plugging into a wireless unit (which you would then plug into your DSLR).

Q: 9. is this suitable for use with the digital avx wireless systems...ie has it been updated to include better shielding as has the MKE2 gold mics?

A: There are known issue with the shielding.

Q: 10. Does this has extreme wether proof design and RF rejection like NTG3 and Senn MKH416?

A: The Sanken is fairly robust in adverse weather, but it is not weather-proofed. Its directionality is comparable depending on the environment.

[White] Clear, crisp sound. Works perfect with our Sennheiser Evo Wireless. The amount of ambient noise this mic rejects is unbelievable. May seem pricey, but it's extremely well worth it!
