The reason there are three bands is so that you can use many systems in the same space and at the same time. The receiver will scan for the best available frequency within that band to use at that time. You can use up to around 8 systems in the same band, in the same space and at the same time, before you would need to worry about switching bands for your next group of systems, to avoid interference with your first group of system.
