The white Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Reduced Sensitivity and TA4F Connector for Shure Transmitters is a subminiature lav mic designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this little mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent, even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a TA4F connector and is wired for use with Shure transmitters. Accessories are available separately and are not included with this configuration of the microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Shure BLX 1288/CVL-J10 is this rack mountabled??

A: No it isn't. I used a 1U rack shelf and used command strips to secure it.

Q: 2. Is this mic compatible with the DJI Mic 2 transmitters?

A: The Shure MOTIV MVL Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for Smartphones has a TRRS connector for use with smartphones. It would not be compatible with a wireless transmitter such as the DJI Mic 2.

Q: 3. Would this work on the 3.5mm adapter for the Gopro4 which is connected on the Gopro?

A: No - it is designed for devices offering a female 1/8 TRRS input like smartphones and tablets.

Q: 4. Will this work properly on portable recorders like the Zoom H1?

A: Two things: 1) You'll need a TSSR to TSR adapter such as the B&H # ROSC3. 2) You'll need to turn on plug-in power. I have the Zoom H6 Handy Recorder and the Shure MVL lavalier works great when plugged into the 3.5mm jack on the XY module with plug-in power turned on.

Q: 5. Hi, I just ordered this mic a couple weeks ago. So far it has not shown to turn on or record any audio, nor did I receive an instruction manual with it. I have plugged it into my canon 5d mark III and also a Zoom H5 recorder, and both have giving me no sound from the mic and some plug in noise. No levels are shown to record. I have not been able to find any troubleshooting pieces on line. Can you help me?

A: This microphone requires power you need to send it 48V

Q: 6. Is this compatible with dsrl cameras like Sony Alpha 7a II?

A: It is compatible with Mobile Phones or Tablets only and not designed for use with DSLR cameras or camcorders.

Q: 7. What is max phone width? I need ~88mm with my case on an iphone 12 pro max.

A: The Shure phone clamp included with the MV88+ kit opens to approximately 95mm (measuring the inside width from edge to edge) so you should not have a problem with your iPhone 12 Pro Max in a standard phone case. If you have a different phone clamp that you prefer using to mount your phone, you can use it together with the Manfrotto stand and MV88+ microphone, just as long as the phone clamp has 1/4"-20 threads on the top and bottom.

Q: 8. Is this just a standard dimensioned, headphones-to-amp piece?

A: Yes, but it has threads on the 1/8 end so it should be used for headphones with a threaded connector. If your headphones don't have a threaded 1/8 end, this will not work.

Q: 9. Is this mic compatible to be used with a Denecke PS power supply? I'm having a problem, cause I just hear a loud hum noise and no transmitter signal. I tried it with other mics and transmitters, and I hear the same loud hum noise.

A: Yes, the Sanken CS-M1 can be used with the Denecke PS-1A or PS-2 which are both compatible 48V phantom power supplies. The Denecke PS-T is not compatible for use with the CS-M1 because it is a 12V "T-power" supply intended for use with older microphones that require lower voltage and the CS-M1 requires 48V phantom power.

Q: 10. does this fit sony mdr7506?

A: Yes, this adapter would fully fit the 7506's.

[White] Sound quality is several steps above the competition and I've used several.Vocal quality is pristine -you cannot go wrong for either Lectrosonics use OR with available XLR adapter, using with direct connections to cameras/recorders.
