  • The video switch maintains Ultra HD 4K picture quality while switching between content from 2 different HDMI source devices including Blu-ray and DVD players, computer systems, video game consoles, digital cable, satellite boxes, and A/V receivers.
  • 4K support ensures a higher level of image clarity and visibility (8.29 million pixels). It provides a more engaging visual experience for audiences in a wide range of venues including conference centers, boardrooms, educational facilities, and commercial settings.

  • Matrix switching lets you route either HDMI source (input 1 or input 2) to either monitor (output 2 or output 3)  and independently switch two displays between two video sources.
  • Fast auto-switching ensures minimal time for switching between HDMI sources. The switch provides effortless operation with advanced auto-sensing. It detects the latest connected HDMI source and automatically switches to it. Auto-switching makes it easy to share a projector or display. It also ensures no downtime in a digital signage application if a source signal is accidentally powered off or fails.
  • Priority switching identifies one port to take first priority for HDMI sources when multiple sources are connected. It is ideal for applications such as digital signage.
  • Manual switching enables you to manually select your HDMI source with front-panel buttons that are easy to use.
  • An IR remote control is included in the box, enabling you to select your desired input source remotely. The RS-232 serial control interface ensures easy remote operation with serial control enabled devices.

  • The switch also saves time during setup with EDID emulation, which ensures that all of your display settings, such as native resolution and refresh rate, are communicated between your display and video source devices. EDID emulation maximizes compatibility with your 4K display, ensuring a convenient plug-and-play installation and the sharpest image quality.

  • Run Ultra HD 4K multimedia presentations on two monitors in conference rooms, commercial settings, or at trade shows
  • Switch between different video sources on your digital signage displays in hospitals, shopping centers, or schools
  • Connect and switch between two video sources and two displays on a test bench, for troubleshooting computers
  • Automatically switch between your Blu-ray player, set-top box, or gaming console in a home theatre environment

  • Backward compatible with high-definition 1080p

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this model allow connection/control with the Content Browser Mobile?

A: Yes, you can use the Content Browser Mobile with this unit.

Q: 2. I tested this camera in the field for some weeks and when I got back, surprise - the video noise is very high, especially the colour noise. Even at 0dB when you apply corrections in the post the images look ugly. Compared to X70 it is very noisy. I used a customised picture profile (Vortex Media), not Slog, but I really don't know why this noise. I miss the old X70. I started a documentary project with X70 and it looks much much better on that camera (with colour corrections applied). Please help... does anyone know why this happens? And if this can be corrected?

A: If you are getting high nose even in well-lit conditions, I suggest having the camera checked out by Sony.

Q: 3. I'm debating purchasing this camera and the z150 (using for docs, events, theater production, commercial, and maybe indie film). Which would best fit as they seem very close in relation?

A: HI Rocky, This decision would be personal preference, do you want the larger body with 3 lens rings or smaller body with better auto focus? The image quality will be very similar. Regards, Erin

Q: 4. I am looking to move up from my Sony NX-100, and my only disappointment with that camera was the zoom speed. The slowest zoom speed was still too fast for the kind of dramatic effect you want with an ultra-slow, creeping zoom. My Canon has 3 selectable ranges of zoom speed, with the slowest being almost imperceptible. Does this Sony camera have the ability to do a really really really slow zoom with the rocker?

A: Hi Steve. I have (2) NX100s and they have Slow Speeds. Did you try programming the Camera? It has a Speed Control Function in the Setup Menu. Using that gives you slow speeds. You can just use the Sony LANC control if you want. It does the same thing via a side mounted slide switch. That also goes pretty slow.

Q: 5. What is the iso

A: It appears the lowest the ISO will go to when set to auto is 200, so I suspect that's the native iso.

Q: 6. Can the camera output 3G-SDI output and HDMI simultaneously? I saw the question in the archive but there is two different and opposite answers

A: Hi IMRY, No, the PXW-Z90V cannot output SDI and HDMI simultaneously. ~Ralph

Q: 7. Is that work with SDXC UHS-I Memory Card (Read speeds of up to 95MB/s; write speeds of up to 90MB/s) for record 4K (100Mb/s4:2:0 8-bit) in this camera ?

A: Yes, SDXC memory cards will work.

Q: 8. When will this ship?!?!

A: If you have already placed an order for this product please email cs@bhphoto.com for an ETA. Or you can email ask@bandh.com if you have not placed an order and want info for new orders.

Q: 9. Isn't it a simple firmware update for XVAC to have XVAC S. If it can do L, and being that S is "inferior" and I'm assuming a software thing. Do you think Sony may do that? I want the Z90 for the broadcast quality but I love the versatility of mp4. I know the NX80 has it but I want 10 bit.

A: We are not aware of any plans by Sony to offer a firmware update for the NX80 that will allow it to record XAVC-L.

Q: 10. What kind of plate do i need to mount this camera to a tripod?

A: Hi, Austin! Good news! Any tripod plate with a ¼ 20 mounting screw will work. Regards, Erin

[1x RJ45 RS-232] I am using this and it works perfectly. I have 2 PC's and 2 streaming devices connected to the 4 inputs, and 3 monitors and a TV connected to the outputs. Audio and 4k60hz video can be seamlessly toggled between inputs and outputs over the web interface. Does everything I hoped perfectly.

[2x HDMI (1.4)] No display flashing or glitching or issues when plugged into Macs - the remote works fine, plug and play - two minutes after opening the box I was switching between my two computers as sources for my big monitor, with no issues.

[1x RJ45 RS-232] Purchased for a conference room in which many input types must be supported. Works precisely as advertised. During the purchase process I initially purchased the incorrect part through no fault of Startech.com. Their customer service representatives were extremely helpful in replacing the incorrect part with the correct part and event waived the shipping cost of the new unit. An excellent experience.
