The Kraft paper, or "Dust Cover," is applied to the back of the frame to keep the dust out and the paper will usually overflow over the sides of the frame. Two pins located on the side of the trimmer will determine the blade placement for right- or left-handed use. To use, start at the edge of a corner, hold on a slight upward angle, and run the trimmer along the edge to trim. As you are trimming the paper off, it will cut an edge of 3/16" from the outside edge of the frame. Once the trimmer is no longer in use, the safety cover slides over to guard the blade.

A: Hello. Yes you can accomplish a border smaller than 3/4" using the mat guide on a Logan board mounted mat cutter. The easiest way is to cut the exact opening you need on a larger mat blank with borders wider than 3/4". Like for instance create your mat with 1 1/2" borders instead. Then after the mat is done, go back with your straight cutter and reduce each of the 4 sides by 3/4" and what will remain is the mat opening you needed with 3/4" borders. I hope that helps. Thanks.

A: The one I bought is the 40-inch one without end stops so yes. Even with the 24-inch one you can make longer than 24-inch cuts you just have to move the guide to do it. For the extra 10 dollars or so get the longer one.

A: Jay K. responded no , but I can't see why it wouldn't. With a sharp enough blade in the straight cutter the edge would act like any other straight edge. As with mat board, I would use the slip board underneath for the best chance at a good cut. You might try overlaying a thin veneer material to hold the material in place as well.Also, I have been cutting 8 ply mat board easily with ease on this tool. I soon learned to forget using the sliding cutting guide. It's ability to square with precision is useless - accurately measure and mark, then align with the the cutter bar works every time.

A: Although it is possible that the W3001 can work with your Logan Graphics 5000, it has not been tested to our knowledge. Your results may vary.
