Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does LS1 and Kirk LP-65 kit support Sony new lens, 70-200 f2.8 GM OSS II?

A: The new Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Lens will be able to use the Kirk LP-65 Replacement Lens Foot for Select Sony Lenses. You can use the Kirk LS-1 Lens Support Bracket for Select Lenses with this as well.

Q: 2. is it possible that this can used with other lenses that have a dovetailed lense plate?

A: I am using the LS-1 with the KIRK replacement foot on my Canon EF 100-400mm L II lens. They work very well together and support my lens at 2 points instead of 1 on a tripod. I find the combination is noticeably more stable than without it. I don't know if you can use this combo on other lenses . You would have to experiment. Kirk makes individual lens supports for specific lenses. For example, they make an LS-2 lens bracket for the new Nikon 200-500mm lens.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Canon RF 100-500mm lens?

A: The Kirk LS-1 Lens Support Bracket for Select Lenses is compatible with the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM Lens.

Q: 4. Is this good for Nikon P1000 or will the lip prevent screen swivel?

A: Yes, Kirk Universal Camera Plate it would fit properly on Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Digital Camera. The screw can be slide to adjust the space, The plate do not interfere with the LCD articulation or the battery compartment.

Q: 5. Will this plate fit a Nikon D5600?

A: Yes, but as with all cameras you have to put an adapter plate on the bottom of the camera with the arca swiss type dovetail groves that mate to this unit.

Q: 6. Will this also fit the Nikon Z8 w/o blocking the battery door?

A: No, the Kirk Camera Plate for Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera would not be a good fit for the Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera, as it is designed for the Z9. A better option would be the Kirk Base Plate for Nikon Z8, BH #KIPZ189 (https://bhpho.to/3tEe3Ty).

Q: 7. How do you decide if you need the LS-75 or the LS-80?

A: The Sunwayfoto LS-80 Ring Lens Support has an 80mm diameter, and the LS-75 version is 75mm. You would choose the size based on the diameters of your most common lenses.

Q: 8. What is the exact length of the camera plate meant for Nikon Z9 ?

A: The actual dovetail on the Kirk Camera Plate for Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera is 91mm long. The entire plate is 97mm.

Q: 9. Can you adjust the inner ring diameter or does it have to be an exact fit on the lens?

A: The inner ring of the Sunwayfoto LS-80 Ring Lens Support with Arca-Type Collar cannot be adjusted. Lenses supported by the Sunwayfoto LS-80 Ring Lens Support with Arca-Type Collar would have to have an outer diameter of 80mm. If your lens is smaller or larger than 80mm, there are similar collars that are different sizes you could consider instead.

Q: 10. Will this screw fit the small hole on the base of the BENRO PC-0 clamp? There are two SMALL holes on the base and I need such a screw for one of those holes

A: Unfortunately we cannot test these items. The Benro PC-0 is discontinued and the screw is a special-order item. It would be our best guess that the sockets underneath the pan head would be the same and it would be compatible with this screw, but you should contact the original manufacturer to get the exact measurements and specifications.

[0.22 lb] Exceptionally well-made camera platform - rock solid. I use it with RRS ball head and leveling base for my indoor macro shots. Could not be more pleased!

[2.8 oz / 79.4 g] The Kirk LS-1 Lens Support Bracket is very easy to use on the LP-70 lens foot for the Nikon Nikkor Z 70-200mm and 100-400mm. Just slide the LS-1 onto the foot, tighten the clamp, snug up the lens support slider to the lens and tighten. The LS-1 provides additional support to help prevent lens movement, especially in windy situations. Kirk Enterprises makes great equipment for use on many of the name brand photography manufacturers camera bodies, lenses, tripods and tripod heads, etc. I own numerous Kirk Enterprises products.

[0.22 lb] This was purchased for use doing macro photography work on a table. The Low Pod is a very simple product: solid build quality, stable, and fits standard tripod heads. With a geared head and 5DmkII, the Low Pod stays put, which is exactly what you need when doing macro work.

[2.8 oz / 79.4 g] The Kirk replacement foot is much superior to the Canon foot & is highly recommended. With that said, the lens is still long and front-heavy forward of the foot, and this bracket supports it there quite nicely.

Both are quality products, and expensive, but so is the lens and I rate these two complimentary accessories as necessities in helping to protect that investment.

[0.22 lb] The Low Pod certainly makes sense as a table top or ground tripod, as it has a nice wide base, and puts your camera right down at the correct level. I coupled mine with a little bit of customization and it now has an excellent clamping mechanism that allows for the instant switching of different ball heads as needed.

[0.22 lb] Putting the foot camp so close to the camera body leaves the whole rig very prone to vibration when using a tripod or monopod. In this respect the Kirk replacement foot is no better than the Nikon original. Used with the Kirk foot this gadget provides much needed stability when using a tripod. Of course you have to buy the Kirk foot as well making the whole package which ain't cheap. The lens stabilizer from Really Right Stuff is a bit more rigid but far more expensive and more than twice the weight making it less practical for field use. I would never be wityhout the Kirk when Im after max IQ and not willing to carry my 500mm f4.0.

[0.22 lb] This add on to the Kirk Lens Collar adds a lot of additional lens stability. I recommend it.

[0.22 lb] I use it on my simplified video camera rig.
In most cases I tend to use the lens support compatible with 15mm LWS rod systems, but sometimes I need a solution that is lightweight, fast and easy to mount and allows to put the whole camera rig on the ground flatwise.
I installed The Kirk lens support on a Manfrotto-style quick release plate with arca-style rails on top. The Kirk LS-2 can support the FE70200GM and Tamron 35150 on the FS5 very well.
The only complaint is that the adjustability range is very small, but this is not a design flaw, it's just me using it in a place it was not originally designed for.

[0.22 lb] Wish I had bought this sooner. It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Weighs next to nothing. Get one before it is discontinued. These niche items always get discontinued.
