The pack of ten white AKG W81 MicroLite Windscreen 10-Pack Whitefrom AKG W81 MicroLite Windscreen 10-Pack Whiteis designed for use with the LC81 MD (lavalier), EC81 MD (ear-hook), and HC81 MD (headworn) reference lightweight cardioid microphones. You simply place this foam windscreen over the microphone's wire-mesh cap for additional sound protection in challenging environments.

Q: 1. Which kind of tape should I use with this product (to close the mat)? Thanks!

A: I use Scotch double sied removable scrapbooking tape. It is photo safe and conforms to ASTM D4236 and ISO 18916. It comes in a roll (in a scotch tape like dispenser) 1.2 in x 300 in. The removal of the top protective backing is a bit of an art. Since the mats have hinges, you need not worry about that. Lineco makes self adhesive hinging tissue. Can go to a hobby store and purchase these.

Q: 2. washable is it machine washable ?

A: Yes but I don't recommend this product. It's like a bed sheet.

Q: 3. Is the white fabric thin or easy to see through with studio lights?

A: The fabric is moderate thickness. It will depend on how you light it, if it will be see through or not.

Q: 4. will Blimp work with Rode NTG1?

A: I wouldnt advise this for the NTG1. This is designed fro the MKH60 which has a larger diameter and is longer. Here are two good options for the NTG1 Rode Blimp System (Item# ROBLIMPR) Rycote Super Shield (Item# RYSSKM) Both of the above options are also far less expensive than the Sennheiser as with the Sennheiser you will still need to add the Grip and the wind muff in order to use this.

Q: 5. Are the mounting corners included with this product for mounting the prints on the board?

A: Mounting corners are not included. Look for acid-free mounting corners or linen hinging tape--Lineco is a brand I can recommend that is available from B&H.

Q: 6. What's the smaller foam for? Extra attenuation if inserted into the windscreen?

A: Thank you for your question. the smaller foam is to assist in further wind attenuation for the top of the mic capsule.

Q: 7. Is this item blue or black?

A: The windscreen is Black. That pic is misleading.

Q: 8. What is the maximum amount of weight this stand will support (background wise)

A: The stand in this kit can support up to 20 lbs.

Q: 9. Does it work for paper backgrounds?

A: This item will work with paper backgrounds.

Q: 10. Is this Blimp too Long for the Sennheiser MKE 600 MIc?

A: This blimp would accommodate the Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone, but would require additional hardware. I would recommend the Rycote Super-Shield Kit for Shotgun Mics (Medium), BH #RYSSKM , which is a complete blimp kit.

[Foam] I don’t use this on an AKG. For me, this little clown nose is perfect for my Sennheiser 416 microphone. I work this microphone close-up. A conventional nylon stocking-type enormous circular windscreen doesn’t allow me to have a proper view of the script I am performing. This little pop filter is expensive but superbly addresses my need. A studio in Hollywood has been successfully using this on the Sennheiser 416 for three decades. When I must record in another studio I have this in my pocket. 5

[Foam] Typical AKG quality, very good. We only use these for indoor HVAC prevention during live recording, but certainly a solid windscreen for gusts less than 10-15 MPH 5

[Foam] I had a small white card, but decided on the larger size. It is still small enough to fit in my camera bag, but a larger target to use for white balance. 5

[Foam] I wanted a compact tripod for an upcoming overseas trip and this looked like a good fit. I already have two Induro tripods and heads but they are still bulky for airline travel, hiking and city vistas. This Field Optics model is surprisingly sturdy and keeps my DSLR very stable. The lower overall height is fine as I intend to use it low down for waterfalls, landscapes and city lights. The reverse folding center section makes it very compact so its easy to drop into a camera shoulder bag. I added a skinny ballhead to keep the overall weight down. Very happy; lets see how it performs next month in the UK. 5

[Foam] I bought this to replace my 3-legged thing I bought a year ago. The 3-legged thing tripod has lost several components, including the weight hook under the center column. The worst is the center column can be accidentally pulled off and can never be put back properly again. I choose this model for its light weight, which is barely over 2 lbs. Also, it has an excellent price. The first impression when opened the box is its surprising robust construction, very sturdy. I knew it is short, that I planned to use it with waist level finder on my medium format camera and the angle finder on my Leica. It is what I wanted, but after opened it, I think a little taller could be better. Its weight is slightly heavier than I thought. It does match the spec, but I just realized that my 3-legged thing is about 1 pound lighter. So, if you want something really light weight, get the carbon fiber version. And better yet, get a taller model from this manufacturer. Overall, I am very happy about this manufacturer for its quality. ButI recommend to get the taller and carbon fiber version. No, I would not return it or make exchange. It is more than good enough for me. 5
